Ingredients - for the cake
- 1 large box milk chocolate cake mix
- 1 12 ounce package milk chocolate chips
- ¾ cup finely chopped pecans
- 4 eggs
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- ¼ cup water
- 1 ¼ teaspoon vanilla
- 1 4 ounce package instant chocolate pudding mix
- 1 cup sour cream
Ingredients - for the frosting
- ½ cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup evaporated milk or half & half
- ¼ cup sifted powdered sugar
Procedure
- In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons dry cake mix with the chocolate chips and pecans. Set aside.
- Combine cake mix, eggs, oil, water, vanilla, pudding mix and sour cream. Mix very well in a mixer
- Fold in the chocolate chip and pecan mixture
- Pour the batter into a greased and floured 12 cup bundt pan
- Bake in a 350 degree oven for 55 minutes. Let cool for 25 minutes then invert onto a plate. Cool completely.
- In a small saucepan, combine butter and brown sugar
- Stir constantly until it bubbles then add the milk and powdered sugar
- Remove from heat
- When cake is completely cooled, frost
