Why did you choose this?
Sur La Table Store
Recently my daughter served me coffee at her home, made with this same stoneware pour-over cone. She thought I might be leery of this method, but it works well! She used a paper filter and plenty of good coffee, giving it a little stir while pouring from a Zojirushi water boiler, which I also intend to buy.

My other one broke. Prefer ceramic over plastic that can leach harmful toxins

Is this supposed to fit all mugs? I just received mine and the rim underneath is the same size as my mugs so it won't stay on.
Allison G on Aug 31, 2014
Best Answer: Although these are standard sized, they don't necessarily fit all mugs.

Does this company make a #6 filter size? If not who?
A shopper on May 11, 2014
Best Answer: No, these filters only come in the #2 & #4 size. I wasn't able to find anyone that makes a stoneware #6 filter

Where is this made (Country). What is stoneware and how does it compare to bone china?
Mimi E on Nov 28, 2014
Best Answer: This is made in China, exclusively for Sur La Table. These are a brighter white than bone china.

Will the #4 fit a 6 cup melitta glass coffee pot?
A shopper on May 18, 2015
Best Answer: I'm not sure if it will fit specifically, but I can tell you that the OUTSIDE diameter of the bottom ring (it fits within the opening of a receptacle & is not visible in the photos), is 3 & 5/8". So if the INSIDE diameter of the opening of your Melitta pot is that size or larger, I'd say your good go!

What is the best grind to use ?
JoAnn S on Feb 4, 2015
Best Answer: I'd recommend medium-fine. Remember, you'll be using this with a coffee filter, so something slightly finer than what you'd use in a drip machine is perfect.

Fortunately, because you're controlling the pour by hand, anywhere from medium to fine is probably ok - doesn't need to be exact.
