Though not the most expensive nut chopper, this one also won the Test Kitchen's equipment test for durability, easy cleaning, and ... the ability to chop nuts evenly in either fine or course consistency

Nut grinder
This product was a great buy, I purchased it as a gift for my brother. He just loves it. Everytime he makes goodies he uses it. He likes that you can grind fine or course. The shipping on this product was good too. I received it within 5 days of ordering it. Very good quality!!

Limited and a bit dinky
It isn't the old heavy glass version. This one is plastic. The crank is short, so it is limited when trying to get enough leverage to grind almonds. They get stuck in the teeth of the grinder, requiring going back and forth through the two settings to get the pieces free. The result on both settings is a wide variety of sizes of pieces. It worked better on softer nuts like walnuts.

Best Little Gadget
This nut chopper is the best little gadget in my kitchen. I'm finding myself using it more and more. Such and inexpensive item that is so easy to use and clean up.

This is my 3rd on of these; I would prefer if it were glass since the plastic keeps breaking where the threads screw the top to the bottom portions. My mom had a glass one just like this when I was growing up and it lasted for years

I gave my daughter my little oscar that my parents had bout me 20 years ago. It chopped nuts perfectly, but thought that I needed something new and modern. It was crap! Going back to basics,'cause I can't bear to ask my daughter for the lil' oscar back! LOL!

My wife actually picked the Progressive Nut Chopper. She has one which she has used for many years but it is getting old and she wanted a newer one.
She indicates they work better at chopping nuts than the more expensive electric ones.

What is the clear body of the nut chopper made of?

I'm hoping it's made of glass, not plastic
A shopper on May 24, 2013
BEST ANSWER: This chopper is made of stainless steel and plastic.
Can this grind nuts fine enough to make a nut flour?
Luna Gizzi on Sep 20, 2014
BEST ANSWER: No, not really. Actually, it's not as versatile as I'd hoped. Even at the larger grind option, the nuts are too finely chopped for any recipes I've tried.
Is this item available in stores?
A shopper on Dec 15, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Yes, this item is available in stores as well as online
