Very good--with some reservations
I bought this cutting board in the black slate in several sizes--some with the corner grippers and some without.
The surface is very good for cutting, but there are some things to be aware of.
This is a very handsome board.
I like the available sizes very much--especially the larger boards.
I prefer the boards with the gripper corners; the ones without grippers tend to slide on the counter.
The surface of the board is initially very slick. So, at least a the the beginning, if I was chopping something and the blade was not exactly perpendicular to the board, it ""skidded"" when it hit the board. Sort of slid out after out went through the food. This seems to be getting better as the board gets a little scuffed up.
These boards wash beautifully in the dishwasher, but there is pronounced chemical smell the first couple of washings, which goes away after a few runs through the dishwasher

Consistent quality...
I've been purchasing Epicurean cutting boards for several years now and they are, hands down, my favorites. I particularly like the ones with the rubber corners, as those don't slip on my Silestone countertops. These wash up easily and make great trivets, too. Highly recommend

Great Cutting Board
We really like this cutting board. It's sturdy, easy to clean, and a perfect surface for chopping fruit/veggies, or meat

Most recommended, and it had the latest grips - some stores seem to be selling older models with inferior grips. Plus, I used a 20% promo code and that helped.

This is my second Epicurean Cutting Board - I also have the pizza peel and the pizza cutter. I have found the brand to be great quality and I like the fact this this is made of sustainable wood fiber. Plus, the rubberized corners are great for non-stick (avoiding the cutting board sliding all over) and the wood is gentle on my new knives. I don't enjoy plastic cutting boards and bamboo seem not to last long on average - these are a great alternative.

We have this in our kitchen and love it. Given as gift to many and they too love this cutting board. You won't be disappointed if you purchase.

Can this be used on a variey of foods

Could these boards share various types of foods, between washings

Best Answer: As with all cutting boards, I highly recommend avoiding cross contamination if you can. We suggest you have a board for meat, one for seafood and one for fruits & vegetables
