I love making angel food cake and this is so much easier than lining the pan.

This is my first time to use this pan. Even though it says that it is non-stick, can I still spray it with Pam spray before putting in the cake batter and baking it? I'm skeptical of the non-stick claim and don't want to waste the batter for a whole cake recipe.

Best Answer: No, you definitely don't want to spray it with nonstick spray. Feel free to lightly oil or grease it, but nonstick aerosol spray can get into the surface & expand when heated, which will compromise the integrity of the pan. It can also carbonize on the surface & become nearly impossible to remove.
