Simply stunning!
Not for me the usual stainless steel utensil holder, which looks very utilitarian. I wanted something pretty for my kitchen, and, since I am Italian, this was just the right thing. It is the right diameter and also the right height for my large baking tools. And it adds a bright note to an otherwise drab spot. It reminds me so much of my Faenza dinnerware. If only you had one that was slightly smaller - the same diameter but a lower height! Thank you

Vibrant Addition To My Kitchen
My kitchen is FULL of color...nothing blah about it for sure! What I found so appealing about these particular utensil holders is that they bring ALL the colors of my kitchen into a united piece - actually serving to tie all my colors together. Great height, but I will say they are slightly smaller than I'd imagined (ordered on line), so I simply bought FOUR to meet the needs of all my utensils. Italy is my favorite country to visit...these beautiful pieces are equal to the good quality I find in my travels there.

We like the authentic Tuscan feel of the Deruta Collection. Reminds us of our honeymoon in Firenze where the window shops were filled with colorful ceramics.

I have a very fancy utensil holder from an Italian shop that cost around $230. I'm going to use that for something else and use this in my kitchen. It looks great, is the right size, and for the price I won't worry if it gets chipped or abused by my 3 teenage boys (:

Are your Deruta style pieces all hand painted or do they use decals as well?
Gerry T on Jan 19, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I am not an expert in either art or pottery, but I have looked at a lot of hand made pottery in Italy, Spain and Portugal. This set of pottery appears to me to be hand painted. If it's not, they went to a lot of trouble to have the machines that did it make "errors." I have been using them now for three months, using them in the microwave and washing them in dishwasher. No chips and no problems. They do get warm in the microwave, but they can easily be held by hand.
