Love These Pans
I bought the 1.5 qt, 2 qt & 3.5 qt so this review is for all three. I spent several weeks researching 3, 5 and 7 ply cookware before deciding to buy these pans because I wanted something that would last at least as long as my last set of 3-ply (30 years). The ONLY reason I gave these pans four stars instead of five is that they are made in China. I would have preferred pans made in America, but those all had breakable features and were (in my opinion) outrageously overpriced. That said, these pans are beautiful, the heat distribution is perfect and clean-up is easy. There are no non-metal parts to break and no screws to work loose over time. The lid handles are perfectly designed for slipping over the pan handles for hanging pan and lid together or for stacking if your pan drawer is large enough to accommodate the pans without nesting.

NO HOT SPOTS! The inner, aluminum layer pulls the heat up the sides of the pan so you get even heat distribution throughout cooking instead of heating only the bottom. This means that for most dishes you don't have to stand over the pot stirring to keep the food at the bottom from scorching. Also, less heat is required to maintain an even simmer. The outer stainless steel layers are lovely and clean up easily. The pan handles stay cool enough during cooking to move the pans without pot holders. However, the lid handles do get pretty hot (they are metal after all) so be careful with those.

Overall, these pans are everything I wanted, perform as expected and I will definitely purchase other sizes

Can't Go Wrong With This Pan
This is a heavy, very well-made fully clad saucepan with good balance, a comfortable handle and a tight-fitting lid. The loop handle on the lid is large and easy to grasp. Rolled rims make pouring easy.

A helper handle on the pan would be a nice touch

Great product at a great price
I bought it for my daughter who was considering either this pan or one from Allclad ($80 more expensive).
She can't praise the pan enough. Supposedly it is the best pan she ever had

Great pans for the price!
My old pans had an aluminum base which provided inconsistent and slow heating. The aluminum core design of the Tri Ply pans cook faster and more evenly than less expensive aluminum disc base models.

The spouted lip on the pans adds ease to pouring so sauces and soups end up in the bowl and not dripping over the counter

Adding to a set
Glad to have this additional pan for my previously purchased set. With a family of 6 we often have a dishwasher full while needing to continue cooking. Pleased with my purchase. Love my Sur La Table products!

Everything About Them Seems Perfect
I purchased two Sur La Table sauce pans in graduated sizes for candy-making. If you've ever loved a piece for the way it feels and looks--even before talking about function--that's how I feel about these pans. They make me happy when I use them. They have heft and balance and clean up very well. I couldn't ask for better--but I would ask for one more size! How about a 4 qt?

What a bargain!
I bought the 3.5 saucepan and it is wonderful! The lid fits snugly, it heats evenly, and has a heft to it that says "quality". I like this pan much more than my All-Clad--and costs MUCH less!

The Missing Pot
I have a set of these pots in an older version that I bought about 9 years ago. So I used other pots to fill in for the sizes that did not come in the set. Such as the 3.5 qt sauce pan. Well, the other pot burned and I never replace it. Until now!!! I just got my new pot and I now realize what I was missing. This is the size I have been missing. Great pot and I pick it first for many cooking tasks I have. Thanks Sur La Table! You make a fine cookware and I enjoy my pots. I love to cook.

Can I use a hand mixer or immersion blender in this pan or will it scratch/mar/damage it?
A shopper on Nov 2, 2014
Best Answer: I haven't used my immersion blender with my Sur La Table stainless pots, but have used it with other stainless pots and no problem. Just would be careful not to hit the edges of the pot - otherwise most likely would scratch. I have a huge inexpensive stainless pot that I use for making marinara sauce in the summer when we have fresh tomatoes and use the immersion blender without an issue.

2 Quart vs 2.1 Quart?

I see the response from SLT says there is not a steamer to fit the 2.1 quart pan, however, I am wondering if the 515643 steamer fits the 2 quart pan 1037068 (or if the 2 quart pan is really a 2.1 quart pan and the listing has been changed). If not, what pan does the above steamer fit
A shopper on Oct 24, 2013
Best Answer: Yes, item #515643 does fit our 2 qt saucepan. As far as I can tell it is 2 qt, not 2.1

If anyone could share their experience with this product durability it would be helpful?
patro k on Jul 23, 2014
Best Answer: I bought these saucepans over 8 months ago and am very pleased with my purchase. I use them on numerous, often times with high temperatures in making caramel. They are an ease to clean and very durable. It's heavy construction allows heat to distribute evenly, thus no scorching. I highly recommend them.

Are the Sur La Table Tri-ply Stainless Steel Saucepans all-clad?
A shopper on Oct 20, 2013
Best Answer: The Sur La Table Tri-ply pans are fully clad with an aluminum core through the pan instead of the aluminum disc at the base of some. This is different from the All-Clad brand of pans who also advertise fully clad style cookware
