I bought these for Valentine's day to make cookies for my daughters. I liked the messages. If you don't flour them, they stick; they stick sometimes even if you do flour them. The messages come out clearly when baked. The recipe included is bland. My daughter equated it to crackers; I don't agree although it is not your traditional sweet sugar cookie. I couldn't make the dough colored, which would have made it more fun (cook's problem). The eight messages was a selling point; I saw similar item elsewhere with only four messages
First off the recipe that comes with these is just plain awful and does not make the pretty cookies you see on the package. Also the lettering does not come out as neatly as it shows. After tossing the first batch I found a better tasting recipe and refrigerated the dough to try and get a nice imprint. Still didn't work. I would have been better off just buying a heart cookie cutter. Waste of money.
These cookie cutters worked great for me. I was so excited to get them that I opened and used them right away - I didn't even notice that a recipe was included. I used one of my own favorite recipes and the cookies turned out great. The cutters were easy to use, easy to wash and made adorable cookies that got great reviews from my friends. I would recommend this product
If you are making these for Valentine's Day, don't use the recipe included. Just made it and can tell it's off somehow. Have to make a new batch. Haven't baked yet but wanted to post this for anyone else out there that doesn't want to waste their time. Will review the cutters once complete
I have the Chicago Metallic Christmas cookie cutter set and they helped make awesome looking Christmas cookies, so I know I'll like the Valentine set too. Nice details on the press sides and following the lines to decorate makes it simple.
Why can't I purchase them on this site, Sur La table? Why did it direct me here if I can't buy them here? Frustrating!

Best Answer:You can't buy this item because it's no longer available. We carried them last year & they've since been discontinued. You were directed here because whatever search engine you used still contained an expired link to our website, which is why no image or price shows up. If you were to search for these by name on our website directly, you'd find that they don't show up at all.
I consider myself an advanced baker....but do you put the sugar on the cookies before or after you bake them if you want colored sugar on them?TIA

Best Answer:You will want to put the sugar on prior to baking, as it will adhere to the cookies better, but please note that the cookies in this picture have had food coloring added as well as colored sugar, and that is why they are so vibrant
