Great pasta quick! No clean - up.
Not sure about the mushy pasta in some reviews. If you start with low quality pasta, it doesn't matter how you cook it.

Only me at home, so not having to boil a big stockpot of water to cook spaghetti or linguine is a big win in my book.

Pasta comes out great every time for me

"WOW, I am impressed!"
I have to admit, I am not a microwave person by any means. I just find cooking the old fashion way to be more relaxing, enjoyable and like the results. Plus, using a microwave often leaves you with food that is rubbery or worse. BUT, I tried this as it just seemed too good to be true and it did not disappoint. WOW! We make a lot of pasta and sometime eat way too late, so having this options is easy and quick, plus I have to say for Tortellini, it is even better, MUCH BETTER. The water boiling can sometimes take flavor away from delicate tortellini or the break apart. I also love I can make small batches and not have to heat up a large pot of water. I am hooked, can't wait to try some other products in this line. One tip, do play around with it. The directions are easy, but as we have used it a few times, I find I learn to change up the water amount based on the type of pasta or the amount of texture I want for the finished results. You will love this cookware

Lku pasta cooker
Like all Lku product this is a quality item. The only problem I can see with it at the moment is it is too easy to make great pasta fast and for me ""the pasta freak ""it could spell my downfall. I love it

No need to boil water first
I love that I don't have to boil water on the stove to make pasta. I also like how the lid keeps the water from boiling over into the microwave.

I haven't had any issues with pasta being mushy. Maybe it would be mushy if it cooks too long

Love this! Have used it 4 times now on whole wheat Penne and Lobster ravioli. Just add enough water to cover the pasta, follow the pasta directions for timing, microwave on hi and done. No waiting for water to boil and no extra utensil to drain. Easy! I make single serving portions and portions for 2

Unsure about this
The pasta cooker is slightly easier than the old way but awkward to use and to wash, disappointing. Every time I use it I think ""is it really easier?"" the answer is not by much. I also don't steam my hands cooking pasta the old way. Could have been designed better somehow

Got this in hopes it would save time. Have not tried it yet with regular spaghetti (fingers crossed that third time's the charm) but both penne rigate and bowties were sticky messes. I'll probably end up just doing it the old-fashioned way on top of the stove, and this thing will end up in the back of a cupboard

Fabulous Find
I must use this every other day. My daughter loves pasta, now she can make it whenever she wants some without a huge cleanup. No more dragging out huge pots and waiting for water to boil. Rotini in 7 minutes. Farfalle in 11 minutes. Fits in dishwasher. I do need potholders to flip it over, but i would need them for a pot wouldn't I? Maybe the other reviewers didn't use enough water? I filled a little over the pasta. Turned out great every time

Huge Timesaver
This is a great tool for busy people. It cooked regular spaghetti and ditallini perfectly. Recommend adding adequate water and checking for doneness.

Fast and mostly easy
This cooks in the time it would take after putting the pasta in the boiling water without having to boil the water first. So that cuts the cooking time in half.

I put a layer of rotini at the bottom of the cooker and covered it with water and put it into my 900 watt, .9 cu microwave. The supports at the bottom of the long container just fit inside the glass platter with the ends of the cooker hanging over the sides. I doubt it would fit into a microwave smaller than .9 cu.

The rotini cooked up perfectly in 9 minutes. Since this first small batch came out so well, I cooked the rest of the rotini in it for 9 minutes. I didn't check for doneness and the pasta was not cooked through. I should have increased the time after doubling the amount of pasta and water. Now I check for doneness before pouring out the water.

It is tricky draining through the lid, even with it turned up side down (which I didn't do at first). So hot water splashed on my hands. I gave up using the lid as a drain. Now I simply use a spaghetti fork to remove the pasta the same way as from a pot.

I've used the cooker two more times with different shapes of pasta and I'm getting the hang of it. It is faster and easier than the old fashioned way, but still requires some practice to make perfect pasta.

PS The instructions that come with the cooker are very skimpy, but the Lekue website provides a free pasta cookbook in PDF format. I downloaded it but I have not made any of the recipes yet

The jury is still out
I've used the twice. I cooked a whole box of vermicelli, as the linguini wouldn't fit, at least the whole box.
The first time, following the directions, there wasn't enough water, and I had to add more. The second time, I added the extra water and even stirred halfway through because of sticking issues the first time, and the water was all over the microwave plate.

Both times 1/4 of the pasta was stuck together. Adding oil or spray to the unit might be the trick, but I don't want to have to remove the microwave plate each time to clean it..

I'm not an amateur cook by any means, and can adapt and improve always.. But I'm still not there yet on this device.
We don't cook small amounts of pasta, which might eliminate my issues.

So, I can't recommend this unit yet, but after I play with it some more, and I adapt and learn, I will update this

Just used it!
I just used it and cooked linguine. It worked great! I think you have to tailor the time to the strength of your microwave. I cooked the linguine for 7 minutes and it was al dente!

Quick and easy
I've cooked pasta, gnocchi (store-bought), and Korean potato starch noodle. All came out just the way it should be. Only much faster with this Lekue. I love it since I don't have to boil a big pot of water and then to dump all that water down the drain. It's perfect for my family of two.
