Great product, great price
This cocotte is my fourth, two round and two oval. I also have the mini-cocottes and a couple of gratins. The dimples on the underside of the lid create a very moist environment without having to use aluminum foil as you need to do with Le Creuset. The black interior finish also seasons over time but there is no staining issues as there can be with well-used Le Creuset. Great product whatever the color!

Best Dutch Oven I Have Ever Owned
This is the best Dutch oven I have ever owned. The 7 quart size is very versatile because you can cook a whole chicken, make a large batch of soup or stew and also use it for smaller meals. I love the cherry color. This is a very well made product and heats up evenly every time. No complaints here. I am thinking about purchasing the 4 quart size as well. Just a note about the fantastic customer service I received from Sir La Table. My original order was lost by FedEx and the customer service representative and Sir La Table overnighted a replacement to me so that I would receive it in time to cook Christmas Eve dinner. Sir La Table came through for me and I will most certainly purchase again without hesitation. Thank you Sir La Table.

Pretty but low quality
We bought this online on November 30, 2014 in the 4 qt size. It looks great and felt great for a month or two. 4 months later the interior of the cocotte is chipped and looks a lot worse than my husband's (who is a professional chef) cast iron pans and pots that have been heavily used for over 10 years. What makes it even worse is that we are using it almost exclusively to prepare steamed vegetables for our now 10 month old daughter. Not much cooking there. I am really disappointed. Given the price I was expecting a much much better quality product.

Love the Design but not the interior
I purchased this not realizing that the interior was black non-stick that required oiling. I returned it and purchased LeCreuset instead.

How come the 4 quart Staub is priced lower then the 2.75 quart?
A shopper on Nov 27, 2014
Best Answer: The only explanation I can think of is that there might be some differences as far as the quality is concerned. I bought mine 4 months ago and the inside is already chipped and looks terrible. There is no way all the Staub products are like that and still have so many flattering reviews so it must be an exception.

can this be used on a glass top stove? is there a chance of it fusing like the enamalware?
Rosemary T on Nov 27, 2014
Best Answer: Yes, it can be used on a glass cooktop. Fusion at high heat may be an issue with this piece, as it too is enameled.

Is there a difference between a Cocotte and a Dutch Oven?
John F on Nov 30, 2014
Best Answer: From what I have read, I do not think so. I believe Cocotte is the French word meaning Dutch oven.

Can anyone tell me how the Staub Cherry color compares to the Le Creuset Cherry/red color? I've seen the Le Creuset Cherry in person and it appears in my eyes to be a bright fire engine sort of red with a very slight orange undertone (it's a perfect red in my eyes) I wasn't sure if the Staub was more muted, or had a different undertone. Thanks for any input!!
jessica on Jan 19, 2015
Best Answer: Everyone sees colors a little differently but I have one of each and here is how I'd compare the colors:The two pieces blend very well together- no worries there. The handles on the Le Creuset are brighter, more orange-y while the Staub handles are the darker red you'd find towards the lower part of the LC pot.The Staub exterior overall stays more towards the cherry color and is more muted; the variations are more subtle, The LC really shows color variations, even on a casual glance. To me, it's more about the variation in colors on the body of the LC vs. the subtlety of the Staub. They are both very welcome in my kitchen..

A shopper on Nov 28, 2014
Best Answer: You can find the mail order form by clicking on any Staub Product page that says "Special Offer" just beneath the price.
