Gift for person who is great basic cook and loves 12" version of this skillet. Kids have left home so good excuse to get smaller version.

I need a pan that I can cook on stovetop and then finish in the oven/ broiler. I have Staub grill pan, and although a bit weighty, it really is great!

Does it have non-stick qualities similar to other enamel cookware? I ask because it sounds like it has texture.
A shopper on Jun 20, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No, it is not non-stick, but yet it is very easy to clean if you allow for few minutes to cool off after use and then soak it with water and leave for 10 minutes et voila, cleaning will be easy peasy.
Throughout the last decade I developed respect and appreciation for Staub products, thus, I use non abrasive sponge to clean the skillet, or any Staub Pots, so that the special-coating-treatment Staub use is not compromised.
One more thingy, don't forget to add the skillet on your list for all things family "Heirlooms", your grand children will love you for it...enjoy.
what is the actual diameter of the cooking area of the Staub 10" basil skillet?
bob s on Dec 15, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Let me guess:

It fits easily 2-3 500OZ Filet-Mignon or alternately 2-3 Tuna-Fish Steaks or 2 New York trip steaks or boneless rib eye Steaks

I’m thinking the diameter, a head scratcher for sure, must be surely around 10’’-12’’.

Bon Apettit….
