Not only are Staub braisers perfect for braising meats, but they can go straight to the table with paella or jambalaya, too. The multi-coat enameling ensures strength and creates a deep, vibrantly colored “majolique” finish similar to fine ceramic for an elegant presentation.

Incredible Braised Dishes for Even Novice Cooks
The quality of the meals I've made with my Staub 4 Qt. braiser has been nothing short of exceptional, even though my cooking skills are lacking and I spent very little time putting them together. For novice to intermediate level cooks like me, I highly recommend purchasing Molly Stevens' ""All About Braising"" cookbook to accompany the piece. Williams-Sonoma's braising sauces, such as Spiced Pumpkin, also work wonderfully with the braiser.

In addition to the braiser, I own a Staub 4 Qt. round cocotte, which has basting spikes on the lid. When I purchased the braiser, I assumed it would also have the basting spikes, but it does not. Regardless, the quality of the meals cooked in the braiser does not seem to suffer one bit and might even be better.

As a word of caution, the 4 Qt. braiser is a surprisingly heavy piece, and care should be taken when placing or moving the braiser across surfaces such as ceramic stovetops.

According to the Staub consumer affairs department, the braiser is oven safe up to 500 degrees F and is cadmium free, lead free, PFOA free and PTFE free
