Since I already had a long steamer, having the one quart size cooker is a good addition. I have done vegetables and instant rice so far. The regular rice comes next as well as the pasta cooker. My hubby does the dishes and likes the ease of cleanup

"Eh, so so"
I was not so impressed with this. First off it stains very easily even though it states that it does not. It is also very flexible like all silicone items and easily spills. Trying to heat up anything that has liquid in it and just picking it up out of the microwave will squish it out and spill everywhere. I did not find it to be any better than any of my previous microwave ware and it was a lot more expensive even on sale.

Living out of a hotel while traveling for work makes it hard to still eat healthy, home cooked meals. This product allows me that option.

My step daughter is going to college and loves noodles. She can't have a hot plate so this is the perfect option. :)

Can you use the steamer on the stove in a pot of boiling water?
A shopper on Feb 22, 2015
Best Answer: the manual doesn't specify, but it is temperature safe up to 428 degrees F. It can't go on a direct heat source like your stovetop directly, but I would think you could float it in a boiling water bath without any problem as long as the food you had in it didn't sink it to the bottom of the pan. I'd be concerned that if it were on the bottom of the pan that it would be too similar to being directly on the heat source.

Can this be used in place of the Ziploc microwave steamer Bags, for frozen broccoli

I really just want a convenient and reliable way to cook frozen broccoli, even without using water
A shopper on Jan 17, 2014
Best Answer: Yes, it would work perfectly fine for that but not much else. I too use it for steaming vegetables but do not add any liquid or you will have a mess. Plus do not cook any type of red vegetable like red peppers or tomatoes as it stains

Using Ogya Pot in place of Steamer?

I am a bit disappointed because I purchased the Ogya Pot but now, upon exploring recipes on Lekue site and elsewhere, I see that most recipes use the steamer :-( Would one be able to use the pot instead for those recipes that don't require the use of the tray in the steamer
A shopper on Dec 7, 2013
Best Answer: According to Lekue, yes. The pot will function the same as the case, expect for recipes that require the steam tray
