Superb tasting coffee
I love this coffee maker, and wish I would have got it years ago! After returning an all in one grinding/brewing machine that brewed lackluster coffee and took a long time to clean, we got the Mochamaster. It's extremely easy to clean and use, and flat out makes superb tasting coffee, and I'm pretty picky about coffee. You can really taste the notes of flavor in the beans.

It seems to be built like a tank - you can tell in the design of details like the power switch that has a solid professional feel to it. If you're on the fence, Sur La Table has a great return policy

Love it!
I don't think that we are particularly hard on coffeemakers, but my husband and I have gone through no less than 5 coffeemakers in the last 10 years. We finally decided to try something completely different. This coffeemaker, recommended by Cook's Illustrated, pleased my industrial designer husband, who is impressed by the fact that all of its functional elements are separate, and the brew basket is not going to overflow into the heating element, which seems to be the Achilles heel of most coffeemakers. AND, it makes great coffee... really it does. We figure that with its 5 year warranty, it will more than pay for itself

I love The Moccamaster
I have spent years searching for the best coffee maker. I have fallen for looks and gizmo's...all for naught. Finally, I gave up and tried a no frills, no computer chip, no clock etc model. The Moccamaster is the best, most reliable pot that I have found. I love it. Great coffe with simplicity, nothing to do but brew delicious coffee. Bravo Technivorm for the Moccamaster

Couldn't live without it!!
WELL worth the price! I actually exchanged it one day for a coffee maker with a bean grinder in it. The next day I went straight back to my Sur La Table and asked for my old mocca master back. Its incredible. Makes the absolute best tasting coffee ver. If you care about what your coffee tastes like, then you need this machine

Moccamaster coffee maker with thermal carafe
I was lucky enough to buy this coffeemaker at a bargain price through the manufacturer when it was first introduced in the U.S. some years ago. It has never failed to make wonderful coffee at the perfect temperature, thanks to its copper "plumbing". You must preheat the carafe prior to brewing for best results.

Fine Automatic Drip Coffeemaker
Excellent no frills drip coffeemaker that ensures the correct water temperature for brewing coffee. Furthermore the boiler bring the water to the brewing temperature so fast that your pot of coffee is ready 5-6 minutes. Love this piece of equipment

money well spent
Cannot say enough about how great this coffee maker is! Makes HOT coffee and tastes great. I think the key is using hot water not cold to brew.

Not worth the risk
The basket placement is very finicky. The basket must be placed "painfully correct" or the coffee won't drain into the carafe. Instead Overflows the filter and spills out onto the counter. Then you are trying to clean boiling hot water and coffee grounds everywhere. Messy and dangerous. Not for me when I'm sleepy and NEED my coffee.

A lovely cup of coffee
I do enjoy a hot cup of smooth, not bitter, coffee every morning with this coffee maker. You can taste the nuances of the beans similar to the essences of drinking and enjoying fine wine. I drink decaf, but enjoy the Whole Foods Decaffeinated French Roast which is roasted in house. With the burr grinder which I use daily, and filtered water, I love the coffee. The downside is that the capacity of the pot is small, only 40 oz. So for a crowd, I brew two pots and use a thermal carafe for serving. The second downside is the price, but I'm hoping to use the machine for many years. Okay, so maybe I should have rated it 4 1/2 stars!!

Dangerous! Burn Risk
We had this coffee pot for 3 months. It does make exceptionally good coffee. The modular design is a problem in my opinion. The basket placement is very finicky. If the basket is not placed ""just so"" it won't drain the coffee into the carafe and instead it erupts all over the pot and counter. We had this happen 4-5 times in 3 months despite being aware of the issue and very attentive when putting the system together. When the basket won't drain, it is left full of almost boiling hot water and coffee grounds. Those of us willing to spend this much on our coffee pot, take our morning coffee seriously and the overwhelming urge to make a new pot can override the common sense to not move a precarious contraption full of boiling coffee. After a 2nd degree burn on my husband's hand, we are returning the product and will be looking for something else. Sur La Table of course handled it wonderfully but I would never buy or recommend this product to anyone

Disappointed
Everyone in my family in Europe has the glass version of the Mochamaster and have had theirs for years and years. My husband buys me this one and not only does it not make full flavored coffee (probably because the water runs through the coffee beans too fast) but it broke after 1 month. The little white rubber button got stuck after it flooded itself. Really annoyed.
