Second Purchase
I originally purchased this tea kettle 33-years ago. It finally wore out. I just purchased another one, in cobalt blue.

Annoying whistling
I'm not enamored with the whistle. It's not pleasant or melodic. It makes you run for the kettle as soon as the water starts boiling. The handle mit is a necessity! I don't know why a kettle can't be produced with a stay cool handle!

The handle cover looked promising. Some kettles get too hot to handle. Also the whistle comments were intriguing.

I purchased one in blue approximately 25 years ago and it still works fine! We are remodeling our kitchen, so it's time for a red one. The harmonica sound is such a happy sound....like your train has arrived.
Paul O on Dec 16, 2016
It has a pleasing sound and it has no plastic parts. I also like the handle cover.
Karen B on Dec 14, 2016
I like the look. Handle is stationary so it does not flop down.

I've had my eye on this tea kettle for awhile because of the good reviews it gets and I couldn't resist the onyx color to go in my black kitchen.

I love these kettles so I am buying one for a gift :-)
Joanne G on Nov 3, 2015
I already have one that is many years old and I let it run out of water one day, while leaving the whistle in the up position.

That said, I continue to want/need to option to invoke whistle or not. My favorite tea kettle . . . also favored by Fran Drescher of the Nanny fame. Always had one on her program on the stove.
Margot N on Apr 19, 2015
An old friend of mine recommended it. She loves it, so I am buying it for a new friend
