This product far exceeded my expectation. It attaches to all my pots and pans with a strong enough grip to even allow you to drain a family sized pan of potatoes. Takes up so little room in the dishwasher and cupboard that it succeeds on every front. I liked it so much I took one back with me to my home in the UK
I bought this a few months ago and really didn't have high expectations. I thought it would just fall off under certain conditions, and I would be left with my meal in the sink. I was absolutely wrong.
I use this on small, medium and large pots. I even use it on cans to drain things like beans. It works perfectly on everything and it's a quick hand wash for me to clean up.
This strainer fits all of my pots and pans and can handle large volumes of food, including large, heavy pasta batches. I use this now instead of those over-sized colanders. It secures firmly and is wide enough that I can pour all of the water out without worry of anything tumbling out. I do use my tongs to unclip it from the pot as the water has poured over it and it can get a bit hot. I could wait 2 minutes and it would be cool enough to touch, but who's got time for that?
This product is wonderful. I can use it on any pot or can. It also works when draining a can deeper than a tuna can. It is in every load of dishes I run. It is my favorite go to item which I even purchased as a gift for a friend of mine.
In the past I would literally avoid making pasta because I hated cleaning goopy colanders (I make a lot of GF pasta). I've had this for about 3 weeks now and I've used it quite a few times with various kinds of pasta cooked in a 5 qt stock pot. It fits the pot perfectly and it's super strong! Never slipped or moved when I was using it. I did have a little spillage with a pound of small shells, but I don't think it was any more casualties than when shaking a colander. I'm sold and I'm definitely going to buy these as gifts for my friends and family.
I never use a strainer and always just held the lid at the pot to drain the water. Not always easy. This is a nice in between. If the pot is too big, though, what you're draining could sneak over the edge at the side - have lost a few pieces of pasta this way, but I still like it!! Easy to use and easy to clean.
This tops the charts for one of the handiest tools in my kitchen. I use it all the time to the point I've thought about buying a second one. I've given it as a gift many times and those I've given it to have done the same.
Can you strain spaghetti? Does the spaghetti slide through the holes?

Best Answer:I just strained spaghetti the other day. No spaghetti slid through the holes. The clip holds tight to the pan or bowl and strains with the greatest of ease. And clean up is very easy. A great buy.
