Beautiful
A beautiful way to show case simple hors d'oeurves (olives, nuts, extotic cheese, sauces). These horn bowls pair great with traditional patterns as well as modern settings. Consider horn has been in use for centuries, it has a timeless quality that never seems to go out if style.

The price for these is fair and obtainable. They are a lot of look for a little money.

Cross use for these? Spar change, cuff links/jewelry.

Delivery was prompt and tracking my order with Sur la Table was easy.

Packing was more than adequate and secure. They really had taken the time to insure any possible breakage, which there was none.

I have two questions: is the interior of this bowl polished to a gloss finish, or is a natural wood state? Also, what is the recommendation for washing--dishwasher, or hand wash with soap? Thank you.
Lori on Nov 4, 2014
Best Answer: These bowls are made completely of horn, so they're polished on the interior & exterior. Because they're a natural material, they need to be hand washed.

Do these come from elephants or rhinos, or any living animal for that matter? If so, why are items from endangered species being sold?
A shopper on Sep 11, 2014
Best Answer: These are not made from endangered species, but rather water buffalo. They are a byproduct of these animals, which have been domesticated for meat production.
