SOUP-ER SATISFIED!
This LC piece is amazing. Good size and the empitome of stove top to table ready. I made a stew in it for the next day. I asked my husband to get it out of the fridge to heat it up. He asked ""What do I pour it in to reheat?"" Nothing! It's a jack of all trades; stove top, oven, refrigerate, reheat AND serve. Friends and family spoiler alert - this is what I'm gifting to all this year

My thirteenth piece of Le Creuset
Le Creuset is always worth more than it costs - but I think number thirteen might be my bad luck piece. It isn't suitable for induction. The GE induction range won't take anything less than a 4 3/4"" pan and the Vollrath Mirage Pro wants minimum 4 1/2"". The curved oven measures only 4 1/4"" on the bottom. It is a dream on a regular glass top electric range. I gave it high marks because Le Creuset is so wonderful, but I am disappointed that it can't be used on an induction burner

Hooray cast iron!
Ive always liked cooking with cast iron, but until now had never used enameled cast iron. Its great. All the benefits of cast iron without the maintenance. I love how it is dense enough to cook low and slow or stay rocket hot when I need it. So I dont have to adjust the heat when adding ingredients. And it goes from stove top to the oven without any problems. Another benefit from Le Creuset is that the inside of the curved oven is enameled white. Its easier to see whats going on in the pot than with my usual black cast iron cooking.
Ive only had it about a month but the Le Creuset curved oven works great for soups, stews, and one dish meals like chicken and rice. It really excels with any recipe that requires long slow cooking. I usually like stainless steel and white plates so I was a bit skeptical about the bright color. However, once I got it on the stove and from there to the table, I was very happy with my choice. It looks terrific. Another thing I like about it is that when its on the table, the food stays hot for a long time. The Le Creuset curved oven is quickly becoming my go to favorite

I received a whole set of LeCreuset cookware at my wedding shower in 1957. Have used it every day for my family. I needed this size as we are aging and needed a smaller oven for the two of us.

Why knob only 375 degrees? what if I had to cook it covered at 500 degrees?
A shopper on May 7, 2015
Best Answer: Can't imagine cooking anything in the oven with a lid at 500'........you don't need that high of a temp when you cook with cast iron.....it holds the heat evenly!
