This pan is fantastic for cooking eggs, frittatas and anything else under the sun. Food just slides right out! Eliminates the need for oil

Great pan
This is my second Scan Pan, exact same pan. We had had the first one for about 8 years and had to finally retire it so we bought another one. This is my favorite nonstick pan. You do not need to use any oil and having a cover is a great bonus

Elderly Dad Loves it!
Bought this for my elderly dad who still cooks eggs, small amount of food for himself & he just loves it. He was cooking in a small, cheap non-stick that was already scraped and ugly, afraid to buy anything else. I bought this for his Christmas present and I could not have given him anything better!

Just what I was looking for!
I have recently gone through several non-stick pans (in-expensive ones) and thought it was time to get something nice in hopes it would last a while. I was not disappointed with this pan!! This pan is great with its non-stick surface and cleans up so easily. I have used metal utensils and it doesn't hurt the surface. The lid is great for keeping oil off the stovetop and steaming fish! I would definitely recommend this pan!

Best Pans
Have had Scan pans for more than 15 years and wouldn't use any other. Can be used on top of the stove or inside the oven up to 500 degrees. Had to buy a set for my daughter when she got married because she wouldn't use anything else.

DREAM COME TRUE
Nothing sticks! Heat is distributed so easily! Very easy to clean, never need to use oil. I've made so many fantastic dishes with this including cookie pies since it works so well in the oven too!

Nonstick and healthy to use
When I needed to find a way for my sister to cook her food safely while recovering from an illness, this was the first cooking pan I thought of! I had previously purchased one for myself after much research. It is nonstick when cooked with medium heat. You can cook with no fat and know your food is safe from toxins. Because I could only order online where my sister is living, I mail order edand she had it in time to begin her healthy protocols. She Loves it! Thank you Sur La Table!

I've heard many good things about Scanlan, so decided to purchase one when the price is so affordable.

No fat needed, has cover.
Barbara N on Jul 26, 2015
I have had Scanpans for over 10 years. The nonstick surface lasts forever if you avoid metal tools, high heat and burnt on fats and oils by washing thoroughly after each use while warm with warm water and dish soap.

The aluminum bottom is thick enough to heat evenly while the sides are a little thinner to help keep the overall weight down.. Handle are comfortable and never get hot.

How does auto-dishwashing reduce the life of the Scanpan? Does the the non-stick coating cease to be non-stick or fall off or what?
A shopper on Mar 19, 2014
Best Answer: You'll never have to worry about your nonstick surface coming off, as it is a layer bonded to the pan rather than a coating.Dishwashers use harsh chemicals, high temperatures and just overall rough washing methods. Because of this, dishwashing will damage the integrity of the pan over time. Therefore, these are dishwasher safe, but hand washing is recommended

Why is auto-dishwashing not recommended for Scanpan skillets?
A shopper on Mar 17, 2014
Best Answer: If you let a little water run into it when it's still hot, my Scanpan comes clean with just the wipe of a sponge or a paper towel. There's really no need to put it in the dishwasher. I use mine nearly every day so it's nice to have it clean and ready to go.

Do these pans warp after use? I find that many wide-bottom pans (like saute pans and skillets) often warp, so I'm looking for some that will last.
Marion E on Feb 15, 2015
Best Answer: I have been very pleased with the Scanpan Classic Saute Pan with Lid. It is the perfect size for saute, frying, and so much more. It cleans well and the lid and pan have held up beautifully. Even running some cold water into it and adding some detergent right after use to allow very easy cleaning of some messy meals have not affected the shape nor substance of the pan. My husband placed it in the dishwasher and all is perfect.

Is the 8" Scanpan 8" at the bottom or at the rim?
Jo Ann B on Jul 21, 2015
Best Answer: I have the 10 inch pan. The sides a sloped with the bottom measuring about 8 inches across. You should assume that the other pans are similarly designed.

What is Bakelite? Wikepedia says it's a form of plastic? Is that on the surface of the pan in touch with the food?
A shopper on May 7, 2015
Best Answer: To the best of my knowledge the only bakelite parts on Scanpan products are pan handles and lid knobs. The cooking surface is ceramic/titanium nonstick.

what is the weight of the 10.25 inch scan pan?
A shopper on Jan 13, 2015
Best Answer: My pan is 9.5 inches, so slightly smaller. The pan itself weighs approx. 1.75 lbs. and with lid, 3.25 lbs.

How big is the 10.25" pan at the bottom? And do they sear meat? I have a smaller scanpan (6" at bottom) and another saute pan that is 9" at bottom. I'm looking for one that is 7 1/2 to 8" at bottom.
Jo Ann B on Jul 21, 2015
Best Answer: The inside flat bottom portion is about 8", the outside bottom flat, heavy portion is about 7.25".
The pan has a nice heavy bottom that distributes the heat well, but because of the non stick coating I do not use it with high heat for long, so I do not typically use it to sear.
