Take your cupcakes to the next level with this innovative device that’s three tools in one. Use the batter tip to dispense cupcake batter without spilling or creating unsightly, baked-on drips, use the injector tip to fill baked cupcakes with frosting, jelly or custard, and use the decorating tip to frost your tasty creations with swirls, starbursts and more. The included storage clip cleans the batter tip and stores the pen between uses.
I purchased this item for my 11 year old daughter because she loves to help me in the kitchen. I also got it on sale.
I will say this item has a few pros and cons.
PROS: very durable, not bad for the price, good for icing cupcakes and cookies, easy to clean.
CONS: the bowl clip attachment that comes with it seems cool but is pretty useless, the filling chamber is too small to use to fill cupcakes (you'll be there all day filling and refilling), the chamber has a pocket between the barrel and plunger so it splatters when you get near the end (my daughter got extremely frustrated with that), there was no easy way to fill the chamber so it was quite messy (we decided to unscrew the tip and fill from the bottom).
The long and short is that for the price I paid for this tool - my daughter didn't mind using it for making Neapolitan cupcakes (to place the smaller amt of flavor on top). She also likes using the tool for icing things. It's super easy to clean and very sturdy. We will certainly get our money's worth out of it
Does this product have strong suction? Would it be effective as a baster, an infuser/ injector of marinade or sauce? Would it function as a liquid separator for liquids of varying gravities for mixology? Can it squirt a powerful spray?
Best Answer:The chefs pen I have only used with frosting. It is an amazing tool and I love it. I have baught 3 more as gifts. I do not think it will work with liquid as it did leak out thick frosting in between application's. I think the pen is for thicker consistenties.
