The ideal vessel for infusing your favorite black, green, white or herbal teas, this simple glass teapot features a stainless steel steeping insert that is perfect for brewing loose leaf teas and can be removed for steeping teabags. Not safe for stovetop use.
I bought this Sur La Table Glass teapot and the glass broke during its first use. This happened while removing the stainless steel steeping insert causing it to hit the inside part of the glass teapot. Now I have a hole in the side of the teapot. The glass is really low quality, and made in China.
Can the steeping insert be removed so the pot can be used in the microwave to heat the water?

Best Answer:I don't see why not... Be carful it might make handle hot... My process... I boil water in my kettle and pour over bags when I don't use loose tea with insert... Just a habit and like the results of the extremely hot water... I would give it a try...
