Should have got a Hario Teapot instead.
I bought this Sur La Table Glass teapot and the glass broke during its first use. This happened while removing the stainless steel steeping insert causing it to hit the inside part of the glass teapot. Now I have a hole in the side of the teapot. The glass is really low quality, and made in China.

I had been given one of these teapots previously and broke the glass lid. I enjoy it so much. It is a small pot and works so well. Holds three large cups of tea.

can i get a replacement lid? for the glass teapot
A shopper on Apr 12, 2014
Best Answer: We do not carry replacement parts. It would be in your best interest to exchange the teapot for a new one.

Can the steeping insert be removed so the pot can be used in the microwave to heat the water?
A shopper on Jan 16, 2015
Best Answer: I don't see why not... Be carful it might make handle hot... My process... I boil water in my kettle and pour over bags when I don't use loose tea with insert... Just a habit and like the results of the extremely hot water... I would give it a try...
