Beautiful and good quality
Besides coming in gorgeous bright colors (the red is yummy), this plate bakes great pies. I get lots of compliments on it, and for the price I couldn't think of a better buy

Homemade At It's Best
Homemade Pies are even better when they look homemade. This pie plate does just that. It is sturdy, beautiful, and functional. While smell and taste are important in a good pie, the presentation can invite a person to try a pie. I especially love the ruffly edge, which adds the perfect touch to my apple pie

Perfection
I absolutely love my SLT stoneware pie dish. Not only does my crust bake evenly and to perfection every time, but the dish is gorgeous! It makes fluting a snap and it cleans up with ease. Highly recommend. BTW - this dish makes an excellent gift for the baker or pie lover in your life!

Fantastic
Not only are its colors vibrant, its shape, weight and feel are just what anybody making pies at home could ask for. A recommended purchase for any pie hobbyist. Nothing sticks and the pies come out with a near perfect thickness and texture. You can freeze it (as some recipes ask for) and then place it in a preheated oven.

Attractive, good price
I have been wanting a pie dish like this for a long time, but at $40 the Emile Henri version was too pricey for me. I got this one on sale for half the price and it's in a beautiful eggplant color.

Exactly, how much does this pie plate hold

There seems to be conflicting answers as to how much this particular pie plate holds. One person says it holds apprx. 4 cups. Another's says it holds 7 cups. That's a pretty big difference. It would be nice to have the correct information
SheCooksSheBakes on Jul 14, 2014
Best Answer: When I measured the capacity of this pie plate, I measured the overall capacity, filled to the brim, which is 7 cups. Keep in mind that the other contributor says it hold ""4 cups of filling,"" meaning not filled to the brim & not including the top & bottom crust. Both answers are correct; it has an overall capacity of 7 cups, and holds about 4 cups of filling

Can this pie dish go from the freezer to a preheated oven safely like the Emile Henry?
Amy F on Jan 26, 2015
Best Answer: The dish states, " freezer safe." However; we always set out the dish at room temperature for one hour prior to putting it in the pre-heated oven. We have had Emile Henry shatter when we took it from freezer to oven.
Warm regards, Gary

will this pan help brown the bottom pie crust?
A shopper on Nov 28, 2014
Best Answer: Yes. However, it is best to bake the crust for a short time before adding the filling. This ensures you won't have a soft or soggy pie bottom. Using pie crust weights is helpful too.
