Description

ECO-FRIENDLY This handsome, durable end-grain cutting board is easy on knife edges and looks great on any countertop. Teak’s tight grain and natural coloration result in a cutting board that’s as durable as it is attractive, while its natural oils help repel moisture, warping and microbes.

Madeira’s plantation teak is sourced from one of the world’s largest teak plantations, where teak is farmed using responsible forestry practices and a focus on sustainability. Not only is the wood itself an ecologically responsible choice, but Madeira also selects cuts that would typically be discarded in the manufacturing process, helping prevent waste of this precious natural resource.

I had an end grain board which lasted years. Then a few months ago I bought an edge grain Boos board which already has a split. So I wanted end grain and not Boos.

This is the VERY best cutting board to be had- pricy, but well worth it. NEVER buy a cutting board that lies flat on your counter top... that invites bacteria! LOVE this cutting board, we have many!
Daniel D on Apr 13, 2015
Teak is supposed to be good for knives. I also like the looks of the end grain wood.
Editha Y on Apr 11, 2015
End grain is best. Teak sounds more durable and easier to care for than maple.
Stephanie R on Mar 15, 2015
My mom saw this cutting board being used in the cooking classes she takes at Sur La Table and really admired the quality and look of it. Also, she has been looking for a cutting board with feet. With its aesthetic looks and quality function, hopefully this piece keeps her happy and has a place in her kitchen for years to come.

I've sent cutting boards to a lot of brides. They like them for cheese servers as well as using them for their original purpose. Can't go wrong with this gift for a special bride or groom.
Saandra C on Aug 23, 2014
The end grain on this cutting board is so striking and dramatic. The size and thickness of this board, coupled with the end grain, will make this a great addition to my kitchen.
