Will this kettle rust?
deb on Nov 9, 2014
Best Answer: What do you use to get the rust off when it does rust?

Does this teakettle whistle?
A shopper on Oct 29, 2014
Best Answer: Yes it whistle as long as you don't fill the water up too much. It's a smaller kettle so it's easy to over fill the holes where the steam goes out.

Will this chip easily?
Shannon F on Dec 29, 2014
Best Answer: The kettle looks to be well made therefore it shouldn't chip under normal wear & tear. The metal rings around the pour spout and top opening of kettle should prevent any paint from chipping in those more susceptible areas. However if the kettle were to get chipped under normal wear & tear I bet Sur la table would gladly replace it.

Does the handle stay cool enough to pour after the kettle boils?
A shopper on Mar 3, 2015
Best Answer: The steam from the spout doesn't blow directly on the handle but does make it somewhat hot. I don't need to use a hot pad but some with delicate hands might wish to.

My tea kettle has rust on the inside. Is this suppose to happen?
Does Le Creuset replace it?

The little metal inserts on the spout top have become immovable and will not allow the top to fit on the spout. How do I fix these problems?
Ester W on Sep 28, 2015
Best Answer: Dear Ester,
Phil forwarded your question as he purchased the Le Creuset tea kettle for me as a birthday gift last November.
I have not experienced the challenge with rust like you are having.

My kettle is green and I heat it on electric burners (if any of that makes a difference?)

I don't know what you have tried as remedies. If it were my kettle I would probably try an SOS pad to rub off the rust and then use some olive oil on the little metal inserts on the spout.

I hope you are able to get it fixed or get a replacement tea kettle. I like my kettle very much and wish for you the same level of satisfaction!
Sincerely,
Anna Marie

Does the inside of the kettle have a Teflon-like coating?
Heather W on Dec 4, 2014
Best Answer: Don't think so. My wife is constantly scrubbing deposits off the inside even though she uses filtered water. She eschews using vinegar to dissolve them because she believes she can't rinse it out completely, but this belief of hers is not unique to this beautiful little kettle.
