So pleased with this machine
Let me start by saying that this is hardly a manual machine. I upgraded from a true manual machine and liked the feeling that I made the perfect drink. This machine really does do all the work. Moving the filter from one spot to another will not make you a barista. But it is so easy to use that making a latt is never a time-consuming chore, no matter how sleepy I am. I love being able to steam and brew at the same time. No more watching the thermometer in the milk and no more separate grinder! Clean-up is a simple wipe down and rinse of the tools (the milk 'gunk' wipes right off the removable steam head). It even has retractable wheels if you need to move it around on the counter! Plus it actually looks like an espresso machine...not a box with a digital readout and spout

I am in Latte Heaven!!!
My husband noticed I was spending a ridiculous amount of $$ on lattes at Sbux. He suggested we look into a espresso machine and I gladly launched into a search. My search started with machines in the $500-800 range. When we went to Sur to check it out, he immediately gravitated toward the fully automated swanky machines and we walked out with a Jur Impressa A9 after trying nearly every machine in the store. We used it for a few days and knew we had made a mistake. This is truly fully automated and there is no interaction at all. It's like using a machine in a hotel room...they make it very easy to use. We took it back and ordered an Oracle (after watching many videos and reading a lot of reviews. We LOVE it! We are new to the espresso community so keep that in mind. The machine is easy to use and keep clean. The coffee grinder is adjustable and works just like our Breville You Brew. Excellent, consistent grind. It tamps down the grounds. The espresso maker has several options, heats up in a few minutes (or you can set it to come on before you wake and the machine will be nice and hot and ready to go) and you can make one or two shots simultaneously. But the milk steamer....that's the fun part. It's a heavenly texture and perfectly hot. And you can adjust the temperature to your liking. The machine will steam your milk as you like or you can do it completely manually. Overall, there is as much manual control as I want (which is increasing as I become more familiar with the process) or it can be mostly automated. For us, this machine is exactly what we need/want. Our guests love it. It's so fun to have this for dinner parties etc. I am really pleased with this purchase.

Finally...perfection!
After owning several machines...including other high-end ones, I was ready to give up. Then I found the oracle. Not only does it look awesome, it works amazingly well. No sacrifices, no mess, no lukewarm milk, no disappointment. I highly recommend this machine. The inventors thought of everything!

Become your own Barista easily with Oracle!!!
Love Love Love this machine ... Was apprehensive that making our own Latte's and Cappuccino's would be difficult! Not with this amazing espresso machine ... So EASY and the results are phenomenal! Worth every penny!!!

when will Breville Oracle be available for purchase

Our Breville 920xl we bough 5 months ago was not working right out of the box. Sur La Table told us this model is being updated and we could exchange it when the new comes out (Breville had many problems with the 920XL and were addressing those problems with the new model). We see it is available but not through SurLaTable and we other is no longer working.Thank yo

Does the 18" height include the bean holder?
A shopper on Oct 12, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it does. Without the hopper, it's only 15".
i have only had my breville oracle for 2 weeks and it's telling my to dscale. I have no instructions on how to do this and I have only used it a few times. Why should I have to descale so soon? No answer in my instruction manual
A shopper on Dec 12, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The two largest reasons for descaling are quality & quantity. If your water is hard & you're using your machine frequently, you'll have to do it more often. Descaling instructions begin on page 38 of the manual.

is this machine being updated?
A shopper on Jul 19, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Can this machine dispense hot water for a French press as my hubby likes coffee this way?
I see that the bean hopper is removable - is there a way to purchase an additional bean hopper so I can fill one with caffeinated and the other with decaffeinated beans?
Mich R on Nov 15, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes, you can buy an extra hopper and a lid (they are sold separately) directly from breville website.
When you change the bean hopper, are there any beans or grinds in the machine left behind? I need to be able to switch to decaf easily, but don't want the first cup to be half caf beans.
Andrea W on Jan 9, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The good news is that when you "unlock" the hopper, it closes the bottom of the hopper, so the great majority of beans will come off with the hopper. You are left with a small amount of beans still in the feed chute of the grinder. I emptied the hopper into a bowl and replaced the empty hopper and ran the grinder. The basket wouldn't fill completely, but you can just remove the basket and dump the half basket of "half-calf" beans (with attitude). I think then, you could fill the hopper with good beans and you'd get a full basket of your good beans.
Is the machine actually in stock so it will ship right away?
Ju A on Feb 10, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes, it is currently in stock.
Wanting to buy the Oracle but making certain I can fit it on my counter. Clearance to bottom of my cabinet is 18" exactly. If that fits (but tight) I assume I would need to move it forward to fill beans? I've been doing that with my Jura Capresso that it is replacing
Dan U on Aug 18, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes, you would need to move it forward to fill the beans. First, though, you need to unlock the feet which isn't a huge deal. Our cabinet clearance is just less than the amount needed so we have it positioned with the bean container out. I would take a picture but I can't see an option to attach a pic. We love this machine!
How many beverages can you make in a minute?
Pam M on May 1, 2016
BEST ANSWER: You have to grind first then make your shot altogether just under a minute. If you bought another portafilter you could start grinding again while you extract the first show maybe get close to two shots in one minute. Assuming you have a 30 second extraction never two under a minute with a grind time in. Pretty darn fast, even still to get under a minute you need a commercial machine with more than one group head as you really need to do two shots at once.
Breville BES980XL: how many bars of pressure?
sarah j on Nov 2, 2015
BEST ANSWER: My understanding is 15 bars.
Does this product use Teflon to cover the aluminum inside?
A shopper on Jun 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No, it doesn't.
I am wondering if the water is heated and then runs through plastic at any point. I am looking for a machine with all stainless steel for the lines etc. so that hot water is not being run over plastic?
Laurie S on Feb 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No plastic line but stainless steel.
Are there any coupons available?
Regina D on Jan 16, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Breville doesn't participate in any of our coupons.
Can I make tea lattes by using tea leaves instead of making an espresso using coffee?
A shopper on Jul 14, 2015
BEST ANSWER: No. This would not be the machine. It has to use coffee beans since it's automatic.
