We bought these knifes for ourselves when we were first married 36 years ago and they are wonderful and still look like new! Sharpening them every so often and hand washing does the trick.

BEST ANSWER: I bought these knives as a wedding gift for a young couple. I have heard they absolutely love them. The knife I use all the time is a 6" utility knife. Perfect for a large variety of tasks.. Keep it sharp.

BEST ANSWER: The utility knife is also referred to as a sandwich knife. It has many uses, ranging from small prep work to slicing a turkey. Riveted Hostaform-C handle. Fully forged. Full tang. Made in Germany. This knife comes with either a 4 1/2" blade or a 6" blade. You can select the size when you go in to place the order
What is the difference between the knives in the "classic" line vs. the "professional" line of Wusthof knives?

BEST ANSWER: I have had some of my Wusthof "Classic" knives for almost 40 years, including this paring knife. They are, I believe, the first knives that they produced....

They have a wonderful weight and balance to them and are very well made (check Wusthof's site for those details). With proper use and care (keep them sharp and wash by hand, always!), they'll last for ever.

Though I have several "Classic" knives, I tend to use the paring knife, bread knife, and my go-to for chopping, is their 7inch Santoku, most.

My best advice, go to Sur la Table and actually put the knives,. that you are thinking of purchasing, in your hands. If the knife doesn't feel right -- too light, too heavy, etc.. -- you won't use it.
