Excellent mid-priced machine
I bought this machine 3 months ago , a step up from an inexpensive machine. It's compact and beautifully designed for small spaces. It has an adequate water reservoir, the frother is really easy to use and to clean, the filter is easy to clamp on and remove. It can be custom programed for water hardness, amount of pour, and heat. It produces plenty of crema to suit me, but I don't drink my espresso like of a cup of coffee. Lattes and cappuccinos are excellent. I am very satisfied with this purchase.

Great Starter Machine
I have always bought mochas from a well known coffee shop for more than $5 each. I have been considering purchasing an espresso machine for some time, but have been reluctant due to the cost. I wasn't sure how often I was actually going to use it. I came across this product a couple of months ago and decided to go for it. It has had a lot of great reviews overall on many sites. I can't say enough about this little machine !! It is perfect for me. I have only used the ESE pods thus far and have been thrilled.

Very good for the money
This is a very good machine for the money. I've only had it for a few weeks so I can't yet speak it reliability. I'm actually getting better results from the pods than from my burr ground coffee. I've had several espresso machines, and to get obviously better expresso only comes from a far more expensive machine. I use a separate milk frother since that seems to be the source of much if the online complaints. I'd certainly buy another one

DeLonghi Dedica
I am very please with my DeLonghi Dedica. The small footprint is ideal for the space I have chosen for it but it has all the functions I need. Since I received it, I have been having at least one espresso or cappuccino every day. It is so quick and easy to use. What a great design and invention! I watched the online videos by DeLonghi showing how to set it up and make espresso drinks so I was making great espresso from the first time I tried.

Outstanding Espresso
Have only had the machine a short time, but it performs exactly as advertised. Makes Espresso as good as the best barista! And unlike our previous machine - if you forget to turn it off after making coffee it turns itself off. Also heats up quickly so you don't have to wait around for that morning jolt!

Does not produce a good froth. I've had three other DeLonghi machines and never had this problem.

If I could give it zero stars I would. This machine is very flimsy and to top it off it was defective as well. Hopefully from the manufacture. Even so, poor quality . Would not recommend

This is a great mini espresso machine made by delonghi! its super small fits anywhere and the quality of the shots are good , another great feature is the rapid steam so from getting your espresso shots to frothing milk it takes seconds and the most important thing , its super quiet !! altho i recommend getting a filter that is not pressurized if you can buy it from some coffee shops online and get a good Burr Grinder like the capresso and you are set to go !!

I purchased this machine around Christmas time 2015 and just love it! I make two perfect lattes for myself every morning. I like my lattes better than SB's! It's a good way to celebrate a new day! It's fast and easy and easy to clean. Good idea to purchase the descaling product in advance so you'll have it on hand when needed. Go for it!

I'll start by saying, I just placed the order and do not have the machine yet. I read great things about this espresso machine in multiple places. De'Longhi has a very good reputation and I am hoping that this will be a good machine for my girlfriend to take the quality of her espresso drinks to the next level.

Great little espresso maker. Small footprint uses very little space on the counter top and delivers great espresso, great steam wand for heating up the milk or cup. Is ESE pod compatible when on the run and I need to get a quick espresso fix.

How many watts is the boiler, and how many pounds does the pump put out? I need technical data. Thanks, David
David D on Nov 6, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The boiler is 1300W & its 15 bars of pressure according to De'Longhi.
Is this BPA free?
A shopper on Dec 18, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Sorry - I have no idea.
can you use ground coffee?
A shopper on Dec 1, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes, fine ground coffee is what you use. Comes with a combo scoop / tamper to tamp the coffee down. I bought it here when it was $239.95.
Can you use ground Illy coffee of does ti take a pod? Can you make lattes too.
A shopper on Jun 8, 2015
BEST ANSWER: You can use either ground espresso and tamp it yourself (tamp comes with) or ESE pods. Illy makes them along with many other companies, they work well and are super convenient. You can also make lattes, cappuccinos as well as shots. This really is a nice little starter machine.
I just want a good cup of coffee....is this mostly for cappachinos, lattes, etc?
A shopper on Jun 7, 2015
BEST ANSWER: We've never tried to make a regular cup of coffee with this machine. We use it for espresso and I bought a separate apparatus from Sur La Table (Nespresso® Aeroccino Plus
$99.00) to heat and froth milk for lattes and cappuccinos. It's just way easier to clean that way. We've spent a lot of time in Italy and my husband is a huge espresso snob. We think it makes a pretty darned good espresso, especially at the price. We just can't see paying thousands of dollars for an espresso machine as many of our friends have done. We'd recommend this machine for espresso drinks, but again, we have no experience with using it to make a regular cup of coffee.
How much water does it hold?
A shopper on Nov 18, 2014
BEST ANSWER: It holds 35 ounces, which is two standard .5L/16.9oz water bottles
Does it come with a tamper and steaming pitcher?
Elizabeth N on Jan 4, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hello.

It does not come with a steaming pitcher but there is a tamper of sorts on the bottom of the plastic coffee scoop. Also note that if you are using your own whole beans you will need a grinder (which you probably already assumed).

If it helps, my husband is very happy with this machine and the espresso it produces :)
How do i clean machine and how often?
A shopper on Nov 20, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It depends on water hardness and on the usage frequency of the machine.
I think this machine came equipped with a water hardness tester to set properly the machine. I did this when I first got it. Descaling process on this machine is recommended approximately after 300 coffee uses or as soon as the machine lower its original performances. Please use De'Longhi's descaler only. Under no circumstances should you use sulphamic or acetic based descales.
Is it possible to make two small espressos at a time?
Cindy S on Feb 11, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Thanks ladies. I just purchased one today! However, I now came across a review where someone said that the ThermoBlock on this baby might be made of aluminum? Does anyone know anything about this? Alzheimers runs in my family, and so, this is of great concern to me.
Is there a cup warmer on the top?
Becky R on Dec 30, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The top of the machine is listed as being a cup warmer though it really doesn't get hot enough while using to really do much. From start to cleanup it takes me under 5 minutes so doesn't really get to cold in that amount of time.
Okay, I am hoping y'all could help me out. I purchased my machine four days ago, and have made 2-3 cups of espresso daily. I am noticing that the crema is getting weaker. I bought fresh beans with the same results. This morning, the crema disappeared right before our eyes, there was a very thin layer to begin with. Has this happened to anyone? The Chat girl said that the tube probably has calcium build up already, and that I may have to clean my machine every 3-4 days?? I only use bottled water, NEVER tap!
Cindy S on Feb 15, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The woman you spoke to on chat must have misunderstood. In fact, when she chatted with you this morning she asked me to advise. She was under the impression you were talking about the froth, not the crema--hence her response about a calcium buildup.
If you're noticing that you're losing the crema on your espresso, then the issue is pressure rather than any sort of buildup in machine. Your crema is created as a result of how quickly the water is forced through the grounds. If you don't have any crema, you're getting an espresso that was brewed with very little pressure, much like a drip coffee machine. This sounds like an issue with the motor. It would be in your best interest to start by troubleshooting with De'Longhi, but in the end, you may need to return your machine.
