What is the difference between this set and the J.A. Heckles International Fine Edge Pro 7 Piece Set at Macy's? Its a lot cheaper there?
Araceli A on Feb 2, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The Fine Pro Edge set is much lower quality, evidence of this starting with its name. A Zwilling rep one told me that the higher quality knives are referred to as "Zwilling Cutlery" & have the 2 man logo, while lower quality ones are "Henckels Cutlery" & just have the 1 man.
Zwilling Pro is made in Germany, while the Fine Pro Edge knives are made in China.
Pro knives have a wood/polymer handle, where as Fine Pro Edge has polypropylene handles. There's a slanted ergonomic bolster on the Pro, but no bolster at all on the Fine Pro Edge.
Pro has a forged blade while the Fine Pro Edge blade is stamped.
These 2 sets are practically night & day.
