Love this pan, it is a dream to cook in as well as to clean. However, the handles get VERY HOT, and fast. Both my son and I have burned our fingers on the pan as it's very natural to grip the handles as you stir and cook. We have learned to put a pot holder beside the pan to avoid burning our hands on the handles. Overall a very nice quality product, only draw back is the hot handles
I had been looking for a braiser and a dutch oven for 6 months ever since I used my boyfriends cast iron one. When I saw this and the accompanying Dutch oven for sale a few weeks ago I had to get them. I love this pot and so does my college daughter who has used it more than me so far! LOL It's easy to clean, non stick and everything seems to cook great in it. It was definitely a great buy and getting it on sale was a steal
I purchased this to replace a large saute pan whose ""non-stick"" coating has seen better days. I love the depth and overall size of the pan, just wish I didn't have to use pot holders to pick it up when using it on the stove. I ordered this on April 1 (no joke), received it on April 2 (last night), used it to cook dinner, and it was AWESOME! it doesn't ""dance"" across the stove-top while stirring and the non-stick surface is wonderful. I'm tempted to find more pans in this collection. The quality is top-notch and the sale price amazing
We immediately use this the moment we got it out of the box. The stew was cooked perfectly and we noticed that the heat is spread-out evenly. the only complaint is that the handle gets really hot too (that's why features is just 4 stars) so you have to really careful when using this braiser. this was on sale when I got it so value is 5 star!!!
I've been using this braiser several times a week since the day it arrived. The nonstick surface is great, and the pot heats quickly and evenly. I've made sauces, stews, and soups in it. (Come to think of it, I'm not sure I've actually braised anything yet, but it's just been a couple of weeks.) I do wish the handles didn't get so hot - that means you need two potholders to manipulate it or lift it. But I'm quite pleased with the purchase over all
There are sometimes things you find out after you use a new pan that you'd not thought of before. This is the case in this instance. I do love the size and non-stick surface but what I didn't realize is that these handles get hot. You will need to have potholders handy. I don't understand why this isn't like other pans. Also the glass cover isn't as practical as the other type cookers. The pan can go in the oven but the glass top cannot so you'll need to use something else on top like foil if you want it covered. I got a great price and that influenced my purchase but I know better now what to look for. This does replace an old similar pan but that had handles that didn't get hot and a metal lid.
