Why did you choose this?
Sur La Table Store
I was looking for a 14" round plate to fit my cake dome and this was a perfect find! I couldn't be happier. Great price. Will also use the platter for many other food options.

I needed nicer plates to serve pizza and these fit the bill nicely. Clean design goes with any setting.

My family eats a lot of pizza. I chose this pizza platter to place on the table. It looks a lot nicer than your typical pizza pan.

I want to use this as cake plate but that you involve cutting cake slices on it.
Yet,,the product specs say to not cut on the plate surface.
Why since it is made out of porcelain, which one would think could stand up to cutting?
Is it best I not use this for serving cakes?

Best Answer: Amanda, Thanks for your feedback. I totally agree on using wood and softer synthetic materials to cut on, but I can't find wooden or synthetic plates large enough for serving a 9" cake . Do you know of a source? Bob
