I grow my own parsley and basil, so this should make it easier to use them fresh.

My friend grows various herbs in her garden and liked a previous herb product I had purchased for her.
Jo Ann W on Dec 27, 2015
I had never seen one of these, and it looked like a great tool to have - I love fresh herbs, but am constantly throwing away wilted ones because I can use up the massive bunches they come in fast enough!
Janet M on Nov 27, 2015
Seems like a good way to prolong and portion out herbs
Geanbry D on Aug 26, 2015
Convenience is the answer! I keep on buying herbs, which get bad in my fridge before I get to use them. So I will be freezing them in this contraption & they will be kept fresh/frozen till the day I need to use them!
Francoise C on Jun 1, 2015
If this works well, it will solve the problem of herbs deteriorating in the refrigerator and eliminate waste.
EILEEN J D on May 6, 2015

Quick & easy way to add fresh herbs anytime

I always throw away herbs and hate doing so. I don't like chopping and freezing into ice cubes, as extra work and then you can't just use what you want. This seems like a great solution.
Betsy D on Mar 1, 2015
I want to keep fresh herbs that would otherwise go to waste.
BETH P on Dec 27, 2014
I always waste fresh herbs. I'm hoping this will help with that

I use a lot of fresh herbs. I want to see how this works, especially if freezing, my herbs will last longer.

Grew a lot of basil and mint this summer that I would like to use during the winter.

So I should buy one herbscicle per herb?
A shopper on Mar 3, 2014
BEST ANSWER: That would probably be in your best interest. Herbs impart very potent tastes and smells, and I imagine they will be imparted into the herbscicle to some extent. So by buying one per herb, you won't risk mixing those flavors or scents
How long can herbs be kept in the freezer in the Herbsicle Frozen Herb Keeper?
A shopper on Nov 30, 2014
BEST ANSWER: A very, very long time if frozen fresh and wet. Great for tons of other stuff, too (herb butters, spreads, chicken etc bases/thick gravies, pestos, molés, garlic butters, tomato paste, other pastes, etc, etc.). I have about 80 of them -- a little expensive, but not nearly as expensive as buying short-expiration-stuff over and over again.
This seems to be a wonderful design! I would love to try it out and write about it.

My question - after freezing, can the herbs be removed and stored so I can freeze a different batch of herbs? Then I would reinsert the plug of the herb I needed into the product and use the herb I needed at the time.
Kelly C on Mar 3, 2015
BEST ANSWER: That's a possibility I had in mind when I bought the Herbsicle, but I hadn't actually tried it until just now. It works - you just have to remember that everything in the barrel of the Herbsicle - herbs and piston - are threaded. Even the exterior cap is threaded. So, when pushing out (screwing out, actually) your frozen herbs, the herb plug comes out threaded. To re-insert it, assuming it has kept its shape, you have to "screw" it back into the barrel with the piston retracted. Sounds do-able - all depends on the herb plugs retaining their threaded shape.
