Finally our search is over for good pans...
These are beautiful, heavy duty, non-stick pans that brown food wonderfully. I have had these pans for a couple of weeks and LOVE them. We use them every day. I have been looking for a pan like these for awhile. I love the ceramic titanium nonstick interior, in my opinion superior to traditional non-sticks, as it does not scratch and it browns my food. The only surprise that I had was when I soaked my pan overnight in the sink there was rust where the handle connects to the pan. I called Sur La Table and they are replacing my pan. There is no need to soak the pan since it is so easy to clean, so I would not recommend this

Such a joy to cook with!
I have been cooking for over 50 years and I have to say these are the nicest pans I have ever cooked with. They are heavy and well balanced. I love scanpan non-stick. I have probably gone through 50 nonstick pans in my life and these outshine all of them put together. They hardly even scratch. I think I got a good buy for my money.

So far awesome! Time will tell. Came over from IQ line
We upgraded via exchange from the Pro IQ set. The IQ set, the non stick started to come off despite them being babied. The one huge advantage to these vs the IQ is on certain inductions cook tops. The Pro IQ base is not 100% induction as the CTQ. The IQ has a plate that is about 80% on the bottom. This is a concern for cook tops like out GE induction. We were not able to use it on the largest induction burner. Because the CTQ is 100% area induction on the bottom, we are now able to use the largest burner. Time will tell how the non stick will hold up. For now we are very happy. We are also blown away with the Sur la table customer service. They are phenomenal. They took our IQ set in with no questions asked and allowed us to exchange and upgrade. We gladly paid the small price difference.

nonstick and quality
paul j on Dec 26, 2015
I've used the 11.25" skillet for two years and really like the quick heat up and clean up. Great quality and really holds the heat. Nothing sticks to the surface and the titanium ceramic looks as good as the day I bought it.

I have truly enjoyed our Scanpan skillets. Bought this for our new induction cook top.
James P on Nov 11, 2015
heard excellent things about them. Read reviews and talked to friend who has them. Ready to make investment in good pans! Putting extra pieces on my Christmas list!

Are they dish washer safe?
A shopper on Mar 23, 2015
Best Answer: Yes. I've been using Scanpan for years and love it. I only occasionally put it in the dishwasher because there's usually not room. If you want more information go to the Scanpan web site or the description on this page below the question and answer section.

I was told by Sur La Table staff that I must not use PAM spray on the surface, since that builds up to a permanent coating, but that butter is OK. What about Canola oil sprays or olive oil?
A shopper on Oct 7, 2014
Best Answer: Butter and Olive Oil (better for your health) are both OK. Add them to the pan prior to heating the pan. Bring the heat up slowly and avoid excessive heat. Do not use aerosol spray oils! These often contain ingredients that carbonize and relatively low temps which leads to carbon residue forming on the cooking surface.

How challenging is it to keep the brushed stainless looking reasonably nice over time? I'm expected it would'nt..?
David G on Oct 8, 2015
Best Answer: The brushed stainless is kept looking nice with occasional use of Bar Keepers Friend cleaning powder. The non-stick surface has been very durable as well.

Can the skillets be stacked for storage?
A shopper on Sep 16, 2014
Best Answer: I bought the set as a gift and do not know. I do have a skillet, and have not stacked it. Sorry no more help. Do love my skillet, use it daily for frying eggs to stir frying dinner.

Do the handles get hot?
Ginny S on Jun 29, 2015
Best Answer: THey

do not get

They do not get hot. I still use potholders, just to be safe. The knob or handle on the lid gets warm. i use a pot holder with the lid also. Love the scan pan CTQ. The best pots I ever used. I especially love the lids with the tiny holes that let steam escape. I never have to clean the burners, because nothing splatters.

Can the lids go into the oven also?
A shopper on Sep 5, 2015
Best Answer: As far as I know they can. There no plastic or rubber to worry about melting. I don't know if I'd put them in at a temp of 550% but up to 450 they would be fine.

Is the quality good?
Maureen D on Jan 23, 2015
Best Answer: The quality is very good, but as with all non-stick products "time will tell". I received a scan pan skillet over the summer and I have had good luck with it. I also bought my brother-in-law a few pans to use on his induction burner and he has not had any issues. Based on this information I replaced a set over very old (15years +) calphalon pans and so far I am very satisfied.

Will my scanpan go from "sauté on gas stovetop to finish cooking in oven"?
A shopper on Jun 22, 2015
Best Answer: absolutely as long as your oven is not above the rated temperature. I believe it's 500? can't broil in the pans, but things finish nicely in the oven. Keep an eye because they are such good heat conductors things get and stay hot for a while.

Has anyone expirienced any issue with the nonstick properties of the CTQ line?.
I've read other post regarding issues with SP's CTX series becoming sticky after awhile. My understanding is, the ceramic titanium is the same for both except for a few esthetic differences- Too pricey to stop working only after a year or so....
David G on Oct 17, 2015
Best Answer: I haven't had any issues since I ordered on August 02, 2015. I made a fried egg sandwich a few minutes ago and the slid right off the pan. Just make you use plastic or silicone utensils and you'll be good to go.

On a side note, the pans are good but way too small for my cooking style. You will invariably need to purchase several additional pieces to truly complete the set.
