16 qt. stock pot
all my sur la table products are outstanding quality and value. the 16 qt. pot is nice and heavy w/ etched measurements on the inside.it's perfect for making soups, stocks or stews and chill. the quality is top notch without the "all clad" price.

Perfect stockpot, perfect price
I was looking for a stockpot that was induction capable, no nonstick coatings and well made without spending a small fortune. Thank you Sur La Table for coming through so beautifully. I bought both the 8 & 16 Qt pans. Most people would only need the 8 qt but I like to cook lobsters once in awhile and that takes up some room. I'm very happy with the quality and the performance.

Love this 8 qt. stock pot
My son has this stock pot, and I borrowed it for an occasion. I liked it so much that I decided to purchase one for myself. It's great for making soups, stock for various dishes and anything that won't fit in a 5 qt. dutch oven. I like the design, particularly the rounded sides at the bottom of the pot. It cleans up beautifully, and looks good as well. I'm very happy with my purchase.

I am retiring a Farberware 8 quart stock pot and wanted to go with something without teflon/non stick coating. Read a lot of reviews on Sur La Table cookware and with the sale price, I couldn't resist!

good reviews, heavy weight, good quality...

My All Clad stock pots have the ultra thick bottom which does not work with my induction cook top. Sadly, there are not so many stock pots that really do work on induction cook tops. My church which has gas cook tops has received my All Clad and I am hoping this works with my cook top.

I chose this pot as a gift for someone who needed a 16 quart pan for boiling lobsters and steaming clams. They wanted a pan that heats up fast and is made of try ply 18/10 steel and aluminum. Reviews are great so I think this will make someone happy.

Sur la Table brand cookware is as good as any "name brand" you can buy! We have had our set for years. It's durable, attractive and performs at the highest standard. It's an incredible value, and I would recommend it without reservation.
Kathleen K on Nov 8, 2016
I needed a new stockpot, and the dimensions of this pot are not too large. Also, I do not need extra features (like pasta basket) - just a good stockpot.

Sending it to the 2nd of my twins who are in college and starting their kitchen collections. First twin already has one. Pot is burn-resistant and has survived one set of housemates. Apparently, it also doubles as a place to put ice and bottles of beer. The horror....

How do these compare with All Clad?
A shopper on Nov 4, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Highly comparable. The Slt cookware has the same 3 ply composition as the AllClad Stainless Steel line. Some would even say the Slt line is better, as it has more ergonomic handles & glass lids.
Is the stainless for these pots 18/10? If not what is it?
A shopper on Oct 16, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes, this is 18/10.
Are these stockpot Tri-Ply?
Amy S on Sep 29, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I believe the base is triply but the wall of the pot ( at least the 16 quart ) is not
Safe over high temps?

Would the 16 qt be safe to use over a gas grill or open flame? Thanks.
SEAgoonie on May 14, 2014
BEST ANSWER: I believe the base is triply but the side of the pot ( at least the 16 quart ) is not.
Does safe to 500 degrees mean oven safe? What about the glass cover lid? Specs don't mention being oven safe. Have already purchased it but want to make sure it's OK for the oven.
A shopper on Dec 29, 2014
BEST ANSWER: yes,its safe to put inside the oven ,with the lid up to 500%..although,you probably won't ever have a reason to do that at such a high temp.but, yes it is safe. hope this helps you out! dasize34
Any issues with food sticking with the 16-qt pot? (I can't use high heat with my non-stick pots). Thank you!
VALERIE A on Jan 14, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes. That is why they invented Non-Stick. However; The high heat does not ruin this pot and you can scrub anything out with enough elbow grease. I have not found anything, other than water that needed to be made at an extremely high temp. I have burned Potato Soup and yes it took some scrubbing, Use non stick for the skillet, and this for boiling, soups and sauces. Beyond that, too high of heat is usually a bad idea for a short cut in my experience.
Cleaning instructions?
A shopper on Dec 26, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Stainless steel pot, so regular dish soap, water (or whatever temp.), scrubby sponge or brush. May want to refrain from using anything that may scratch or you'll scratch it, but hey, if you burn food in it real bad, do whatcha gotta do. Scratching it (superficially) doesn't seem to have impacted performance.
Why does everyone say not to put it in the dishwasher, when this Web site says, "Care: Dishwasher safe"?
A shopper on Jan 26, 2016
BEST ANSWER: All dishwasher detergent is not created equal. We will wash some pots and pans but we don't use the more caustic (means no bleach) soaps. Especially if you are cleaning anything NOT STAINLESS. I would recommend just doing all pots and pans with bar keepers friend or bon ami (both with oxalic acid).
Does the Aluminum touch the food anywhere? - this is my only real concern with this pot.
Kristi L on Feb 8, 2016
BEST ANSWER: No. It's sealed between 2 layers of steel.
Does /Sur La Table offer a 11 or 12 QT Stock pot of this quality?
Kristi L on Feb 8, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, we carry a 12qt multicooker.
Will this pot work with an induction stove?
Peter C on Jan 25, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes. I believe that anything that a magnet attaches to from the bottom will work on an induction stove.
