As good as All Clad, but half the price!
I was needing two 16 qt stock pots for a Christmas party I was cooking for last week.I had looked on-line at several high-end retailers, but they all wanted $200.00 - $400.00 plus per pot. I went into my local Sur La Table store and was referred to these pots by the staff. After in-store comparing with All Clad (which are the lions share of my cookware), I decided on these pots b/c they were similar in manufacturing, felt good in my hands, had a glass lid with a steam port, and were half the price of other quality stock pots. Once I used them for the party, I knew that I had made a great decision with the purchase of these pots. I am a very happy customer, not only for the fantastic product at half the price, but b/c the Sur La Table staff have been so helpful every time I go into the store. They're winning me over from their competition with their knowledge, product quality and availability, and of course, prices.

The price seems reasonable and the Sur Table products are usually a good product for the price.

How do these compare with All Clad?
A shopper on Nov 4, 2014
Best Answer: Highly comparable. The Slt cookware has the same 3 ply composition as the AllClad Stainless Steel line. Some would even say the Slt line is better, as it has more ergonomic handles & glass lids.

Does safe to 500 degrees mean oven safe? What about the glass cover lid? Specs don't mention being oven safe. Have already purchased it but want to make sure it's OK for the oven.
A shopper on Dec 29, 2014
Best Answer: yes,its safe to put inside the oven ,with the lid up to 500%..although,you probably won't ever have a reason to do that at such a high temp.but, yes it is safe. hope this helps you out! dasize34

Cleaning instructions?
A shopper on Dec 26, 2015
Best Answer: Stainless steel pot, so regular dish soap, water (or whatever temp.), scrubby sponge or brush. May want to refrain from using anything that may scratch or you'll scratch it, but hey, if you burn food in it real bad, do whatcha gotta do. Scratching it (superficially) doesn't seem to have impacted performance.

Does the Aluminum touch the food anywhere? - this is my only real concern with this pot.
Kristi L on Feb 8, 2016
Best Answer: No. It's sealed between 2 layers of steel.

Why does everyone say not to put it in the dishwasher, when this Web site says, "Care: Dishwasher safe"?
A shopper on Jan 26, 2016
Best Answer: All dishwasher detergent is not created equal. We will wash some pots and pans but we don't use the more caustic (means no bleach) soaps. Especially if you are cleaning anything NOT STAINLESS. I would recommend just doing all pots and pans with bar keepers friend or bon ami (both with oxalic acid).

Will this pot work with an induction stove?
Peter C on Jan 25, 2016
Best Answer: Yes. I believe that anything that a magnet attaches to from the bottom will work on an induction stove.
