I recently purchased a Scanpan all in one and it came with a free skillet. I LOVE them. They distribute the heat evenly, the food just glides out of the pan and I will certainly be purchasing more pieces as time goes by
I own several pieces of Scanpan, and will continue to replace older cookware with more Scanpan! It is very solid cookware and the nonstick finish is amazing. I've given some as gifts to family members and they love it too
I've loved Scanpan brand since purchasing a giant stock pot a decade ago. Now this smaller pot and a small fry pan are just right. Temperatures are consistent. It's easy to clean. Nothing sticks and the coating never peels off. A pan for a lifetime! And easy to recommend.
I'm a cast iron snob and was never, ever interested in buying nonstick anything. I received this set as a gift a few months ago, and it totally changed my mind. I get nearly the same results when caramelizing or browning as I do with my cast iron cocottes, only the oven in this set is much lighter and very easy to clean.
Honestly, I use the oven two or three times a week — it's the perfect size for cooking dinner for two people (plus leftovers, of course). The skillet's a bit small, so I only use it for making grilled cheeses and cooking eggs, but the nonstick surface is impressive. If you never took nonstick cookware seriously, give this stuff a chance. You'll be really pleasantly surprised.
I initially bought my first Scanpan because I was tired of the clean-up from other pans I had. I was not disappointed! I'm sorry I didn't find out about Scanpans sooner. Not only is the clean-up a snap, the food cooks great!! I have several pieces now and that's all I will be using from now on.
My sister bought my first two pans as a gift. They are awesome! I bought two sets of the Classic 3-Piece Set. One for me and one set for my son and daughter-in-law. We all love them! I love the convenience of the non-stick sauce pot for cooking rice.
In my quest for a quality, safe nonstick pan I thought I'd give Scanpan a try. I enjoy egg whites and my nonstick test is cooking egg whites with a minimum of fat, or even better, no butter or oil. I purchased this set and cleaned before first use using warm, soapy water. Using a medium heat (4/10) on a glass top stove I was disappointed when the egg whites stuck to the bottom of the new Scanpan. I'll use again for a few days with a little butter or olive oil before returning for a refund if the food continues to stick. I'm not a happy Scanpan owner- yet.
The last thing I needed were more pots and pans. My good friend convinced me otherwise and I'm glad she did! I use both of them every single day! When I first received them my first thought was how small they LOOKED but this pot and pan, AND LID, are the perfect size for my husband and I. They make cooking enjoyable! They perform amazingly and I love the weight also! They are a PERFECT combo!! LOVE THEM!
Scanpan is healthy cookware that I've been cooking with for more than 15 years, and I'm slowly replacing the units that have lost their non-stick finish from use. This set is an excellent value with a lid that works with both, and the bases have curved edges that are easy to clean. I've learned to use oils or butter and no sprays. For browning I use olive oil at medium-high heat so it doesn't burn. Otherwise, I use coconut oil or butter. I use plastic utensils to prolong the coating. I clean them with wet paper towels or cloths while they're still hot which is a breeze. I absolutely love this set. However, I noticed the thickness of the metal and the coating is thinner, and will probably not last as long as my original pans. I do appreciate that they're not so heavy to lift anymore, but I wish the coating would not be so thin. Is there anyway Scanpan could refinish these products as part of a recycling program or repair program? I would gladly send my old pans back to be resurfaced and pay for it, because other than the surface, the pans, lids, knobs and handles seem to last forever.
I love these pans. I own several, and have two sets of this pair, as I have two homes. The size is perfect for two people. I bought a set of Scanpans as a wedding gift for my son and his wife. While I have read about the surface bubbling after some time has passed, so far I have not had any problems. They distribute heat well, and are great on my gas stoves.
Bought this for each of my three sons when they started out in their own apartments. This is all they need to get by for cooking and easy clean up helps tremendously and assures they will cook for themselves. Love ScanPan!
Bought these pans on my sister-in-law recommendation and she is right these are the best pans you will ever buy. I've had all clad and others and these are great. Plus, they boil water faster than any other pan
Scanpans are great. Nothing sticks to them. They are easy to clean and I don't have to worry when I let somebody else cook in my kitchen because metal utensils don't scratch the pans. I find them easier to store than other non-stick pans because I can nest them without concerns.
I've been using Scanpan for over 15 years. I'm replacing my worn out sauce pan and small fry pan with these. This is the healthy, non-stick, easy clean-up, sturdy pans I prefer. I do not use metal utensils anymore so they last longer. I also use cooking oil, not sprays, as sprays burn into the surface. I wipe the pans with wetted paper towels or a wet cloth immediately after cooking for instant cleaning. I trust this manufacturer. I buy Scanpan as gifts as well!
I love using nonstick skillets for my bacon and eggs in the morning. My current pan is ok, but the outside is red - and is so marred by burnt on foods. I'm hoping this one is easier to clean. Plus I can use all of my utensils in them and I won't have to worry.
Best Answer:Hi, Virginia. The two pans are the same diameter; the skillet is approximately 1.5 inches high, and the sauté pan is approximately 3.5 inches high. The skillet is suitabke for browning, sautéing, frying eggs. The sauté pan is suitable for things like one-dish meals, soups, chile. The lid fits both pans. Sur ka Table did not ask me to comment on Scanpsns per se, but I will; these are the best nonstick pans I have ever used and well worth their price.
Does the 6.75" height of the pan include the cover? It the pan is 6.75 inches high and 9.5" in diameter, it should hold a lot more than 3 quarts? One question says that the pan is only 3" high.

Best Answer:Sur La Table should answer this for you. Yes, the total height of the deep pan (6.75") includes the cover, which is domed with a big knob. The pan itself holds 3 quarts. You could fill it a bit more, but then it would boil over when you applied heat. Perhaps ideal for cooking even a little less, up to 2.5 quarts.
The pan itself is 3-3/4" high, so 6.75 includes the lid. I believe it's about a 5-Qt to 6-Qt capacity. The reason I bought it was because it had larger capacity than my 4-Qt saucepan. This is a fabulous, very versatile piece of cookware. I have 3 Scanpan items now in my kitchen, and I love them!
Best Answer:The classic is black inside and outside. The more expensive has stainless outside. I actually like the classic better. The more expensive has rivets for the handle inside pan. It is harder to clean. Also stainless has changed color. The classic is awesome. It is the easiest clean up. Love scan pans. Will be buying morebof classics.
The cooking surface is the most superb nonstick item I've tried. Wow!!! If you're looking for performance, I don't think you can find a better product. If calories are a concern, you need the smallest amount of fat to cook. How can you beat that combo!
what are the differences in the types of Scanpans ?
A shopper on Dec 9, 2014
Best Answer:The more expensive scanpans have the metal handle riveted to the pot/pan whereas the lesser expensive ones have the plastic handles. I have both versions and I prefer the metal/riveted handles because they feel a lot more sturdy. I am waiting for my plastic handled ones to break off at some point. Otherwise, the metal/material for the nonstick surfaces are the same.
Classic is the base version with aluminum body and plastic handle. (NOT for induction) Pro is the classic body with steel handle CTX has 5 layer stainless steel/aluminum body and steel handle (induction OK)
