The best jars hands down!
First, I love these are made in America! I have several of these in multiple sizes as they look, are very quality and the lids keep contents fresh. I have a big kitchen, so I love to be organized and these do the trick. I have three large ones for baking ingredients (get aluminum scoops for each). I use another for homemade granola...the glass lid keeps everything fresh. I even have one by the back door for dog treats.

Saw them on Barefoot Contessa - like the wide mouth and being able to see when I need to buy more sugar or flour at a glance.

Is the lid air tight? In other words, is there a seal? I'm looking for a clear, glass product to store flour in and want to make sure it's air tight to prevent it from absorbing pantry smells and to prevent bugs from getting inside.
Jaime S on Nov 25, 2014
Best Answer: No, the lid on this jar is not airtight.

What size holds 5 pound bag of flour?
A shopper on Nov 10, 2014
Best Answer: The 1 gallon would hold a little more than 5lbs.

Is the lid a corked top that suctions into the base? Or is it a simple lid that just rests on top?
A shopper on Nov 28, 2015
Best Answer: It isn't a corked top with suction. It just rests on the base, but there is a lip to hold it in place.
