This is one of my very favorite tools. Best ever for finely mincing leafy herbs -parsley particularly- and does a great job chopping thick bars of premium chocolate. Very Very fast. Highly recommend. Careful it's extremely sharp Need to be careful putting back shield.
I have had several mezzaluna, but this is the best one I have ever tried. It is so sharp that I almost cut myself when removing the blade shield. Mincing and small chopping jobs are much faster. In fact, I find myself using this instead of a knife for most of my chopping and slicing jobs since it is so easy to control. I don't think I could cook without my new kitchen toy.
Great tool!!! Makes the best finely chopped parsley and onions and .....just works so well. Highly recommend. Chose because inexpensive, no frills. But protective case is dangerous to attach. Be careful
I love Kuhn Rikon products. I have something similar to this by the same company but it has a long handle. I never could quite get the hang of it. I have used a mezzaluna in the past and consider them easier for mincing and chopping than knives.
Best Answer:No. Not for all ingredients, but would be fine for herbs, onions, garlic. I really like this mezzaluna and use it daily. Only problem, I didn’t buy a curved wooden bowl, so chopped ingredients tend to fly around cutting board. Also, the shield is iffy…you could easily cut yourself just putting it on the blade. But that’s minor…drawback; overall, it’s a great tool, at that price.
