Okay Egg Poacher
Egg cups must be greased before use or the eggs will stick. The handles on the egg-cup tray and the individual egg cups are too small, making them awkward to use.

buy the Calphon pan instead
I got this with a gift card that my daughter purchased for me for mother's day. It cooked the eggs unevenly- some undercooked others overcooked; my gas range is professional grade so I don't have issues with uneven cooking. I did grease the poaching trays but all the eggs stuck anyway- tried it again same result- awful! What a waste of a dozen eggs. No instructions, no tool to take the egg trays out of the pan. I have the calphon poaching pan and it works great. I got this second one to use when we have large groups for brunch; that won't be happening.

I really want this for the bottom pan. At the sale price, it's waaaay cheaper than a 2qt Alll Clad saucier.

Does the skillet still act as a skillet without the egg poacher insert and will the lid fit and seal?
Michelle M on Jun 1, 2015
Best Answer: The skillet is great for frying or making omelets. Very nice weight and well made. The lid fits well without the egg poacher insert. I would highly recommend this item. We love the egg poacher.

What is the Sur la tab Non-stick 10" pan warranty? How Long can I expect these pans to last, if taking care of properly? I hang each pan carefully, hand wash w/ soap, and only use olive oil, butter or other oils to cook with; no spray i.e. Pam.

Best Answer: Hi Julie. I've had my full 10 pc set for over 15 years. Only reason I had to replace my 10 inch skillet was due to a careless roommate (ex now) that cut meat in side of my skillet while cooking and destroyed the non stick finish inside the skillet. I have taken care of my set, much like you have mentioned above, re-hand washing and drying. I stack my set in my cabinet, using paper towels between each pan to avoid scratching.
Like I said my set is 15 years old, I use low heat settings and hand wash and dry and I think my set will last another 15 years easily. Good luck with your set Julie.
GM, a happy senior customer.

how do you remove egg from poacher?
A shopper on Jan 5, 2015
Best Answer: To begin with, you need to grease the egg cups or the eggs WILL stick. After the eggs are poached remove the entire egg-cup tray from the water or the remaining eggs will continue to cook. I run a small (about the width of a butter knife), flexible spatula completely around the egg, then turn the egg-cup over and the egg falls out. If you don’t need to poach six eggs at a time, look at the Demeyere® Stainless Egg Poaching Pan, 4 cup. The egg-cups are truly non-stick and the handles on the egg-cups and egg-cup tray are much larger, making their use substantially easier. Unfortunately, they no longer make a six egg poacher.

What are the directions for making poached eggs with this pan?
A shopper on Apr 17, 2015
Best Answer: These are not written instructions that come with the pan, but generally, you fill the bottom portion with water and heat the water before cracking eggs into each compartment on top. Then just let the water simmer, poaching the eggs for about three minutes with the lid on. We spray the bowls beforehand to aid in getting the eggs out. This pan is nice in comparison to our old one. Six bowls verses three and each bowl lifts separately. Hope this helps.
