Love it!
Perfect for homemade ice cream. The lid stays on in the freezer but doesn't get stiff when frozen, making it easy to open. You'll need at least two.

Wonderful for homemade ice cream
Just got the "bug" to make my own ice cream. The containers are cute, colorful, cheerful, and work great! The lids fit very well and do stay soft in the freezer. I bought one of each lid color and will be getting more. My recipe makes enough for two containers, and what fun is having only two flavors in the freezer?

Why did you choose this?
Sur La Table Store
Love these especially the color lids. I make homemade ice cream all the time. And this works out for a great size for leftover.

Recommended to store home made ice cream

I thought this container would be great to accompany the Cuisinart ice cream maker I was purchasing from SurlaTable. The ice cream maker is read and will be a birthday gift.

Have a friend who has them and loves them.

Is the blue label on the front of these like in the photos? I want to get these to put homemade ice cream in for christmas but I don't want the writing on it..
caitlin S on Aug 28, 2014
Best Answer: The label peels off. The container itself is just plain white. Very classy looking!

What are these made of. Are they ceramic or plastic material?
Kathy D on Dec 3, 2015
Best Answer: It is a plastic material. The body is fairly rigid; the top is less rigid. Both seem to come through the dishwasher just fine.

Could you use these containers to freeze homemade soups??
Jessica K on Jan 2, 2016
Best Answer: I received these items as a gift and have thoroughly enjoyed them for storing home made ice cream. I have not attempted to use them for storing other types of food. If I wanted to consider freezing soup in them I would consider 1. That the soup be room temperature or less when put into the container, 2. Leave room in the top for expansion & 3. Keep in mind if the soup has tomato, garlic, onion etc., the plastic container may pick up the flavors In the soup, making it difficult to use for storage of ice cream in the future. I would stick with disposable plastic containers or glass for freezing soup.

What is the best way to label the container with the flavor of the ice cream?
A shopper on Jul 28, 2015
Best Answer: The best way would probably be to get some sort of chalkboard sticker to put on the containers (you can get them at any craft store) that way you can change the name with chalk when you change the flavor. I have 2 containers but sometimes I feel like I really need a third because when I make a batch it usually fills up about 1.5 containers sometimes 2 containers depending on the recipe. The other option would be to use masking tape of some kind with isn't as aesthetically please but it would get the job done most likely. Just make sure you put the sticker or the tape on before you put any ice cream in the container or in the freezer otherwise it will have trouble sticking.

Can the ice cream containers be placed in microwave to soften ice cream?
Sandra C on Oct 12, 2015
Best Answer: The plastic is very thick. I would not think microwaving for a short time would harm the container.
