This torch is perfect for caramelizing sugar on creme brulee and for toasting marshmallows on s'mores pie. It has worked great for many years although I don't use it every day. I bought one for my mom for Christmas and she loves it too.
after a search for Cooking torches, I found the Sur La Table web site... I found several torches in a variety of prices and today, the Messermeister Chef's Torch was on sale.. so I decided to stop thinking about one and went ahead and placed the order after I did some additional research on the torch brand and on Sur La Table.. Possitive input was rec'd on both !!
how do I open this product up to put in the butane bottle
i purchased the messermeister chef's torch sometime ago and just decided to use it.

Best Answer:Trigger-start aluminum torch for perfect crème brûlée. Up to 2700°F. 200 minutes use per 9-oz. butane canister (not included). You do not need to open any part of this product in order to fill the butane. There should be a small nozzle on the top of the butane bottle and point of entrance for that nozzle on the bottom of your chef's torch. Instert that nozzle into the bottom of the torch and push. This will release the butane from its canister and load it into your chefs torch.
