I am eating more vegetables and I just received a recipe for butternut squash soup from a friend.
I have never made my own b/c I never felt comfortable using a large knife to cut the squash.
As soon as I received the recipe, I got the idea that it was now time to buy this cleaver.
I like the size and the handle.

I think this cleaver is a Chinese type cleaver not a western meat cleaver as suggested in the description. It looks like a Chinese cleaver and other retailers identify it as such?

BEST ANSWER: It serves my purposes and is part of my knife set. It is heavy enough for bone work but perhaps not on a professional level. I have used in in home cooking butchery. If I were to say it was a Chinese cleaver, I would think that the backbone would be thinner and the overall weight much lighter. Over all I like the tool and the Zwilling brand. Good luck.
How does this knife compare to the Zwilling Four Star II 6 inch meat cleaver?

BEST ANSWER: The Zwilling Pro has an ergonomic slanted bolster & a polymer handle, while the Zwilling Four Star II has straight bolster and a handle made of resin.
Essentially they're the same knife, the Zwilling Pro is just slightly higher quality.
