I invert my 9 qt bowl over onto the loaf of bread I'm baking to create a steamy environment. Helps create a shiny crust and great oven spring every time. Also great for tossing large quantities of salad for a crowd.
Gave all 5 sizes for Christmas and wife uses them all the time and thinks they're great. However after first cleaning, my towel snagged on the underside of the rim during drying -- found a couple thin shavings of metal stuck under rim (most likely caught there during the cutting/manufacturing process). Carefully removed the shavings and checked the rest of the bowls. Still love them, but lucky the shavings didn't end up in our food
I've been looking for a lightweight bowl that has higher sides than the shallow stainless bowls I originally had 30 years ago, and these Sur La Table Amco bowls are the answer. A few years ago we bought some very heavyweight deep stainless mixing bowls that are now literally a pain for me to handle because of my arthritis. These Amco bowls are considerably lighter and easier to handle, yet feel substantial enough for everyday use. Highly recommended
These bowls are durable, nest for easy storage, are priced well, and are super versatile. They're a great gift for someone just starting out, or an easy way to build a matching set that stores well. You can use metal tools without scratching these. You can use them to proof bread. I even used the large size to brine my 9 pound turkey breast this Thanksgiving! The possibilities are endless, and you will find yourself reaching for these again and again. Truly a great buy
Got the largest one primary to prepare and toss french fries but it's very versatile. The size was a little bigger than I envisioned but it fits great in our cupboard. It cleans up very nice. It looks so nice, I used it to serve as well. It is very durable and thick. Very well-made. Should last the rest of my lifetime
I bought the 2.5, 3.5 and 4.5 pieces over a period of time. These are light weight, easy to manage and stackable. The ceramic bowls I was previously using were getting too heavy so I was ecstatic to find these lighter weight option. I mostly use when I bake cookies while partitioning my ingredients. Or I use these when I want to marinate little strips of meat I'm preparing for dinner. I love these bowls.
What is the diameter of the 6.5 qt and 9 qt bowls?
Would be very helpful to have that in the description, as the de Buyer bowls.thanks

I purchased some staineless steel bowls from a competitor and after a few uses and a couple dishwasher washings, the underside of the bowls rusted. This is unacceptable for such expensive bowls. Please tell me about your bowls - will they rust? Please be honest. Thanks

Best Answer:I see no signs of rust or dents and I've had one of these of these bowls for a couple of years. I liked it so much, I recently got two more in different sizes. These Amco bowls can take a lot of rough and tumble even though they are lightweight. They are nice and deep too, unlike the shallow lightweight stainless bowls of old
I ordered the 2qt. stainless steel bowls for my niece for her shower, does she get one bowl o a few of them as pictured in the ad?
A shopper on Mar 7, 2015
Best Answer:I received one bowl for each size I ordered. They're great bowls--fit easily into the cupboard and are steady on the countertop when I use either a spoon, an electric beater, or a hand-held blender.
From the answers to the other questions about widths and depths, a smaller bowl may not be level or lower than a larger bowl when stacking for storage. When all five are stacked inside of each other, what is the width of the highest bowl and how high is the stack? What is the size of the highest bowl? I want to make sure I have enough storage space for all of the bowls

Best Answer:The bowls nest perfectly inside one another. But you're right that technically, the tops of the rims will not be even with one another, and there will be small gaps between the bowls' rims. The largest bowl you select will have the tallest rim, and be the widest. Hope that helps
