Huge 9 qt one great for baking hearth bread
I invert my 9 qt bowl over onto the loaf of bread I'm baking to create a steamy environment. Helps create a shiny crust and great oven spring every time. Also great for tossing large quantities of salad for a crowd.

"Great bowls, but one small concern"
Gave all 5 sizes for Christmas and wife uses them all the time and thinks they're great. However after first cleaning, my towel snagged on the underside of the rim during drying -- found a couple thin shavings of metal stuck under rim (most likely caught there during the cutting/manufacturing process). Carefully removed the shavings and checked the rest of the bowls. Still love them, but lucky the shavings didn't end up in our food

So Lightweight
Finally got rid of my heavy glass bowls for these. Soooo much better!

Fabulous find!
Lightweight but super strong...these bowls are fabulous. For anyone who weighs ingredients, these are perfect! You will be amazed at how often you reach for these

"Nice deep, lightweight mixing bowls"
I've been looking for a lightweight bowl that has higher sides than the shallow stainless bowls I originally had 30 years ago, and these Sur La Table Amco bowls are the answer. A few years ago we bought some very heavyweight deep stainless mixing bowls that are now literally a pain for me to handle because of my arthritis. These Amco bowls are considerably lighter and easier to handle, yet feel substantial enough for everyday use. Highly recommended

Every kitchen should have this set!
These bowls are durable, nest for easy storage, are priced well, and are super versatile. They're a great gift for someone just starting out, or an easy way to build a matching set that stores well. You can use metal tools without scratching these. You can use them to proof bread. I even used the large size to brine my 9 pound turkey breast this Thanksgiving! The possibilities are endless, and you will find yourself reaching for these again and again. Truly a great buy

Excellent Bowl
Got the largest one primary to prepare and toss french fries but it's very versatile. The size was a little bigger than I envisioned but it fits great in our cupboard. It cleans up very nice. It looks so nice, I used it to serve as well. It is very durable and thick. Very well-made. Should last the rest of my lifetime

Daughter-in-law loves!
I gave all five sizes this Christmas 2012. My daughter-in-law loves all the sizes, and uses them all the time

Nice, light weight bowls

Fantastic essential bowls
I bought the 2.5, 3.5 and 4.5 pieces over a period of time. These are light weight, easy to manage and stackable. The ceramic bowls I was previously using were getting too heavy so I was ecstatic to find these lighter weight option. I mostly use when I bake cookies while partitioning my ingredients. Or I use these when I want to marinate little strips of meat I'm preparing for dinner. I love these bowls.

I have these bowls already in the 9 Quart size. I love them. I use them all the time for baking. I need a few more. They're apparently not available in store anymore. I had to go online to order them. They're sturdy and do not tarnish. They look the same as when I bought them a few years ago. Great quality and worth it!

Do the bowls rust?

I purchased some staineless steel bowls from a competitor and after a few uses and a couple dishwasher washings, the underside of the bowls rusted. This is unacceptable for such expensive bowls. Please tell me about your bowls - will they rust? Please be honest. Thanks
A shopper on Dec 12, 2012
BEST ANSWER: I see no signs of rust or dents and I've had one of these of these bowls for a couple of years. I liked it so much, I recently got two more in different sizes. These Amco bowls can take a lot of rough and tumble even though they are lightweight. They are nice and deep too, unlike the shallow lightweight stainless bowls of old
Can you bake in them?

I want to bake a round cake and the best way seems to be in metal mixing bowls. Will these bowls do well in the oven?
A shopper on Mar 3, 2014

a few of them as pictured in the ad?
A shopper on Mar 7, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I received one bowl for each size I ordered. They're great bowls--fit easily into the cupboard and are steady on the countertop when I use either a spoon, an electric beater, or a hand-held blender.
can these bowls be used as a double boiler? are they heatproof?
Emily C on Dec 15, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes, I think they would make an excellent double boiler. These are high quality solid metal bowls.
I would like to know if a magnet will stick to these stainless steel bowls? I want to use one inside a saucepan for a double boiler on an induction range. I do not want the bowl to heat up from the induction element, thus if a magnet does not stick, it should work for me.
A shopper on Aug 8, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Stainless steel is nonferrous so a magnet will not be attracted to it. Have you thought of using a trivet?
bought two bowels today and then spent 10 minutes trying to get the stickers off them. Each had 3 stickers and after peeling them off they still left a stain on the bottom of the bowel. Used soap and water and goo gone but the marks still remain. Any suggestions?
Larry M on Nov 1, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I used peanut oil initially to remove the stickers but I don't know if that will work after you've used soap and water. A friend of mine told me about the peanut oil after a sticker mouse trap got stuck on my sons pants.
Are the edges on these bowls sharp? Or are they rounded?
A shopper on Sep 21, 2015
BEST ANSWER: They are neither sharp nor rounded. The edge is flat but the outer edge is very smooth. I love these bowls. They are great.
Do the bowls nest inside of each other?

From the answers to the other questions about widths and depths, a smaller bowl may not be level or lower than a larger bowl when stacking for storage. When all five are stacked inside of each other, what is the width of the highest bowl and how high is the stack? What is the size of the highest bowl? I want to make sure I have enough storage space for all of the bowls
A shopper on Feb 8, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The bowls nest perfectly inside one another. But you're right that technically, the tops of the rims will not be even with one another, and there will be small gaps between the bowls' rims. The largest bowl you select will have the tallest rim, and be the widest. Hope that helps
if i buy 3 bowls of the same size, will they nest?
A shopper on Apr 8, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes and quite nicely I must say.
What is the brand of these bowls? Some customers emntion Amco?
Chantal P on Dec 2, 2015
BEST ANSWER: These are considered Sur La Table brand. Manufacturer information is proprietary.
What is the depth of the 2 quart stainless steel bowl?
Kenneth L on Nov 3, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It's 4 inches. It's my favorite for whisking eggs especially, and for my wet ingredients for my pancakes and cakes.
