Very nice product
This is a beautiful, well-made product. It has a small metal loop on the side in case you want to hang it up. I have used it to sift flour (worked great for that -- very fast and thorough) and to strain chicken broth (better than a conical strainer because the surface area is wider). I had wanted a tamis for a long time, since using one at a French bakery years ago, and I am very happy with this purchase.

I didn't like the quality of this item. I thought it would be made of higher and better quality Stainless steel since it's made in France but unfortunately it is not. definitely not as expected. will return.

Perfect for sifting or making pate or mashed potatoes. Much easier for larger quantities than a sieve.

Is the mes screen flat or concave?
A shopper on Jan 1, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The mesh is flat. It is very tightly and smoothly fitted to the frame.
Can you use this to make macarons? Is this a fine mesh sieve?
Alexis S on Mar 19, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes. It sifts almond flour very well. I havent tried it with other nut flours, but I got rid of a lot of almond bits. It sifts powdered sugar in seconds.
Is this an extra fine mesh sieve that would be fine enough to rinse quinoa? What is the mesh size?
Alyssa F on Jan 27, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It is a very fine mesh, but I do not know the size. I haven't rinsed quinoa in it, but it would work for that. Good idea!
