Good size pot but...
This is a nice size pasta pot for two people, but the colander does not fit low enough into the pot. The pasta only has about 2/3 of the pot's capacity in which to boil and move around. The colander might almost work better as a steamer basket. Next time I will boil pasta without the colander.

Perfect all purpose pot
Now that we are empty nesters It is so very seldom I need to use my larger 8 quart pot. I discovered this in the store and bought it. My husband and I use it almost every other day. It is ideal for the soups, stews, pastas and steamed vegetables I cook today. And All-Clad cooks evenly and is so easy to clean. I love this essential pot.

I have the 12 qt pot which is great but is way too big for my day to day needs. This size is perfect size when I'm cooking for the two of us and is the one I reach for. Love All Clad quality and performance!

You can't beat All Clad. I am building up my collection and thought it would be nice to have both a 12 qt and 6 qt pasta pot.

Why does the description say this item - 6 qt. pasta pot - is made in China? I thought All-Clad is made in PA?
USAmade on Jul 11, 2014
Best Answer: Most AllClad Cookware is made in Pennsylvania, but there are still a few, lower cost pieces that are outsourced to China

why are some of the All Clad products on sale made in China? All Clad is usually made in the USA
A shopper on Feb 16, 2015
Best Answer: All-Clad makes a few pieces called Specialty Cookware pieces. These pieces are made of 18/10 stainless with a thick stainless steel/aluminum disc in the bottom of the pieces rather than all the way up the sides of the pan. These pieces are still high quality that All-Clad is known for, but provide a lesser expensive option for specialty pans you might not use all the time This 6 quart pasta pot is one of those pieces. Don't shy away from it. It's a fabulous pot!

How many pounds of pasta can you cook at one time in the 6qt pasta pot?
A shopper on Dec 27, 2014
Best Answer: Not more than a pound, I'd guess. I haven't tried more than a pound, but the problem would be either that the srainer doesn't sit deep enough in the water or else it dusplaces too much. Boil-over is a problem.
