Does vinegar rusts lids?
A shopper on Oct 19, 2014
Best Answer: No, vinegar does not rust the lids. Many people use these jars with the Ball lids for making pickles and preserving other high acid foods. You can use some of the recipes from the Ball website.

Are these really green or more of a mint color?
A shopper on Jan 1, 2016
Best Answer: They are a translucent light green, closer to mint than forest green. But anything you put in them will have a green cast, so if you put something clear or white in them you will see the light green color and if you put something dark in it like berry jam, it will look dark with a green tint. I personally like the clear for jams and sauces so you can see their actual color better.
