I have this kettle in indigo. I was very excited to own a Le Creuset tea kettle. Every time I use it, which is at a minimum 2x a day, it drips on to the counter when I pour it. It doesn't matter how it tip it (steep pour or gradual) it still drips! I am very disappointed but I don't think I can return it
Had this kettle for about 1 1/2 years and loved it. Then when cleaning it i wiped out the inside with a paper towel. The towel came out covered with a dark color. The inside of the kettle was no longer smooth. It was rough and actually appeared to wipe off. I had been using water that was sitting in this! I wiped the inside of my son's kettle with the same result. UGH!!!!!!!!
I bought this kettle for my mom about two years ago, only to visit her and find out that it doesn't whistle anymore. I had it replaced with another one, but that worries me. Hopefully this second one will work out better than the first.
LeCreuset products are great, but this was just a big disappointment given the reputation of the brand
Just brought my first Le Creuset tea kettle in Burgundy and it is a beautiful addition on my stove. Made a quick cup of tea just to hear the kettle whistle and was disappointed to hear that it was barely audible! At the price I paid I expected to hear something with a little more tone. I think I will see if I can reorder and hopefully get another Le Creuset that can whistle!
Frequently doesn't whistle, occasionally the handle gets really hot, and, lastly, if the water is too hot, when it hits the spout while pouring it jumps and splatters everywhere. Lastly, I find the top to be. Very difficult to pull off--and impossible to pull off if the kettle is hot. Incredibly disappointing--I would not recommend purchasing.
I have hard water and it leaves residue. Are they pretty easy to clean inside and outside? Also why are they so expensive

Best Answer:Le Creuset says that if a build up occurs, a gentle kettle de-scaler may be used periodically if required.Prices for these kettles are based upon the material used to make them (enamel and steel) as well as the craftsmenship put into making them. Le Creuset is a highly reputable cookware company, so it is a name you can trust
