A cooking teacher in San Francisco recommended vanilla powder to me. It's stronger than the liquid, so you can use less but I don't because I love the flavor. Madagascar is the very best quality but not easy to find which is why I go to Sur La Table
Since Am not a Person that Imbibes, this is Perfect.Liquid Vanilla Extract is made w/Bourbon.Steeped in Vodka as well. So,this is My Choice. Is easily sprinkled"" or ""sub"" out for the Other. As reviews have said,Better.Agree.I would also suggest if have a Vanilla Bean and worried about going Bad?Cover it into Baking Sugar for that use Only.Fragrant&redolent of Vanilla and can skip a step in baking w/White sugar.Place in Caster Sugar for Baking as well
I have purchased the Powder ""in store"". No Alcohol. Yet,if ""recipe"" has changed, call Customer Service or try a ""Live Chat""on line.Always better to be safe, especially if Children are consuming Food Products

Pure Madagascar Vanilla Bean Paste, 4 oz.
Best Answer:I was introduced to this vanilla bean paste at a cooking class and have been using it ever since in place of regular vanilla extract. It's a straight swap measurement-wise. I like the consistency, the ease of use, and the great flavorful results! It's like I've put actual vanilla bean in the recipe but with no fuss. Love this product!
