"If you're a baker, you have to try this product"
A cooking teacher in San Francisco recommended vanilla powder to me. It's stronger than the liquid, so you can use less but I don't because I love the flavor. Madagascar is the very best quality but not easy to find which is why I go to Sur La Table

"Powdered Vanilla ""Extract"" is Fabulous."
Since Am not a Person that Imbibes, this is Perfect.Liquid Vanilla Extract is made w/Bourbon.Steeped in Vodka as well. So,this is My Choice. Is easily sprinkled"" or ""sub"" out for the Other. As reviews have said,Better.Agree.I would also suggest if have a Vanilla Bean and worried about going Bad?Cover it into Baking Sugar for that use Only.Fragrant&redolent of Vanilla and can skip a step in baking w/White sugar.Place in Caster Sugar for Baking as well

I've heard of vanilla bean powder and now this paste to sub for extract, for a more flavorful end-product: any advantages or disadvantages or which is best?

Best Answer: I was introduced to this vanilla bean paste at a cooking class and have been using it ever since in place of regular vanilla extract. It's a straight swap measurement-wise. I like the consistency, the ease of use, and the great flavorful results! It's like I've put actual vanilla bean in the recipe but with no fuss. Love this product!

What are the ingredients. Does it have sugar added?
A shopper on Jan 30, 2015
Best Answer: Sugar is not added. The ingredients as listed on the label are "maltodextrin, vanilla extract." Maltodextrin comes from treated grain starch and has less than 20% sugar content. Although not a sugar, it has a glycemic index of 130 (regular sugar is 65).
