doesn't this come with a battery already installed? the one i ordered online was just delivered and it won't turn on.

Best Answer: ignore this question please, i discovered there is a battery. there is a tab you need to remove to activate the battery. this thermometer works very well (only used it 1 time so far)

I bought this and cant figure out how to reset the temperature to make it more acurate, help?

Best Answer: The temp will go down automatically but try turning it off then on again. You can also run some cool water over it.

what is the maximum temperature this can read?

Best Answer: 300F for the Taylor made. I also have similar thermometer by OUTSET that goes go to 390F.
