I bought this product because I like All-Clad. The first one sputtered and died. The nice folks at Sur La Table replaced it for me (five stars for service). The second one sputtered and died. The exact same way. Neither one was used much. Neither one was abused. There is a weak link somewhere in the design. It seems to be in the adjustable speed control. I am just guessing. But after spending 100 dollars, I just want it to work. All-Clad makes great cook ware. Consider another brand for an immersion blender.

How does this compare to the Bamix?
A shopper on Oct 22, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Bamix is a Swiss company & they still make their blenders in Switzerland. Many reviewers say the Bamix motors are built to last and do so for around 20 years. The shafts of Bamix models are permanently attached but they typically come with changeable blades. It has a comfortable handle & the buttons are easy to press, but one reviewer noted that doesn't create a very good vortex which made it pretty slow when blending soup & smoothies.
The AllClad blender comes at a much lower price point, but it's also made in China. The shaft on the AllClad comes off, and it is said to make quick work of purees. The largest flaws reviewers have pointed out on this blender is that trapped food in the shaft is hard to clean out & that's it's poorly assemble, leading to it disassembling itself while in use.
is this immersion blender cordless?
james on Oct 18, 2014
BEST ANSWER: This immersion blender is not cordless but that's one of the reasons I got it. My cordless, rechargeable immersion blender stopped holding a charge (after many years).
is it battery operated or rechargable?
A shopper on Feb 8, 2015
BEST ANSWER: My immersion blender I a plug in, the same as you would a small hand mixer. Hope this helps.
How long is the power cord?
Mark S on Mar 5, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Haven't actually measured but I would say its at least two feet long, I have two outlets near my stove top and have not had any issues with the cord. The blender is the best I have owned and was worth the money. Hope this helps.
