Wonderful machine
I got this machine as a holiday gift for my fiance. He loves coffee drinks and really wanted an espresso machine. When researching machines, I decided to get something that had an integrated milk system so that I could use it to make chai lattes and other non-coffee drinks.

We both love this machine. It was very easy to set up and the functions are mostly intuitive. A quick run through the manual taught us everything we needed to know. I using Lavazza espresso beans, the drinks taste great. The cappuccino function makes a perfect cappuccino without any fuss. It is easy to clean, easy to refill the beans and easy to refill the water tank. I love that the milk container can be stored easily in the fridge. Plus the compact size fits perfectly in our kitchen.

Love this machine
I bought this machine a year ago because I was tired of spending money on a capsule machine I owned when I did the math this machine made sense. It is so easy to use. My coffee is always hot and it makes a great cappuccino. I love this machine!

Are there any differences between this machine ECAM25462.S and the ECAM23450SL?
A shopper on Nov 1, 2014
Best Answer: this seems to either be a model that sur la table struck a deal to have sole selling rights to, or its a model that delonghi tried out, but moved on to their newest model and didn't really release or produce. i bought this machine a couple of days ago.. it's great so far. the only difference that I see is this one has a 'milk menu' button which presumably you could get to as a sub menu on the other model? otherwise I assume it is the same. my only gripe so far is that beans don't feed well, but the beans i have right now are too oily - i'm going to try dry beans and see if that solves it.

What temperature should the coffee be when the machine is set to the hottest setting? We just purchased one of these and the reading I got was barely 150 degrees. It just does seem as hot as I expected it to be.
Kathy M on Dec 16, 2014
Best Answer: European espresso makers brew coffee at a lower temperature than American coffeemakers, espresso is meant to be enjoyed in smaller portions & therefore does not need to be as hot. 150° is an accurate temperature for a De'Longhi machine. If you want it hotter, try warming your cup before brewing.

Is there a setting for regular American coffee?
Mike Bawol on Nov 1, 2014
Best Answer: No. De'Longhi machines have a setting for "Long Coffee" which is 4oz, but there isn't a setting for a cup of American coffee.

Does this machine have a separate hopper for decaf?
A shopper on Jan 10, 2016
Best Answer: No it doesn't have two bean hoppers but it has a separate ground bypass so you can add a scoop of ground decaf and make one cup of decaf without removing your beans from the hopper. Hope this helps. I love this machine BTW.

does this machine brew regular coffee?
A shopper on Jun 2, 2015
Best Answer: Yes, depending how you define "regular coffee". The machine will produce up to an 8 oz coffee (a double cup extra long) at the press of a button, you can then extend it to any size by holding down the button within 3 seconds of it finishing. This coffee is still however an espresso style brew (hot water forced at high pressure through compacted ground coffee) versus what most north Americans drink: hot water drip filtered through loose ground coffee. The two drinks, even using the same amount of coffee and water will produce a different taste experience.

What size cup can you fit under the dispenser? I use a travel mug for when I go to work that is around 7.25"
A shopper on Jan 17, 2016
Best Answer: the tallest vessel that can be placed under the spouts without tipping it is 5 3/8". A 16 oz glass measuring cup, heated by the rinse cycle works well for transferring coffee.

If this machine doesn't make an Americano cup of coffee, is there a machine that makes cappuccino, latte's and Americano coffee?
Brenda C on Jan 23, 2016
Best Answer: You can make an Americano with this machine, but you'll have to add the water manually. This is the case for making an Americano with any fully automatic espresso machine.

Is the milk carafe/container self-cleaning? If not, how long does it take to clean everything each day? Also how often do you find that you need to refill the water, beans, etc (assuming daily use for one person, 1-2 cups)?
A shopper on Jan 17, 2016
Best Answer: No, it isn't self cleaning. It takes less than 5 minutes to clean. You'd likely need to refill the water tank & the bean hopper once or twice a week.
