Outstanding product
As a professional chef I see a lot of really useless kitchen products out there for sale. This is not one of them. this machine is great for many culinary practices. I have used mine for frico crisps, french toast, pancakes, grilled sandwiches , quesadillas and several other things and it does all of these things extremely well. The best part is the clean up, just wipe it down with a paper towel and you are done. I just ordered two more and plan to use them in my restaurants

Amazing!
I purchased this panini press because I've always loved restaurant panini's, they are delicious. I bought it with not really very high hopes, because nothing is as good as when its made in a restaurant, so I actually thought I would only use this for making grilled cheeses and such. When I first got it I decided to try making something anyway, so I bought good meat and cheese and all the things I thought would taste good on the sandwich. It turned out even BETTER then a restaurant panini! They are so delicates! Clean up is so easy. I certainly recommend this, and it is certainly not a pointless appliance. I use it very often

Couldn't be more pleased
As other reviewers have mentioned, we have also encountered many small kitchen appliances that have turned out to be essentially useless. However, with this product we couldn't be more impressed. It is large enough and sturdy enough to function exactly as we would wish. Both with large and smaller sandwiches, it produces even, perfectly browned results. We would recommend this product with no reservations

Quattro Press
As a professional chef, I look for quality and whether a device is suitable for its intended purpose. For the price, the Breville Press is a great buy and is easy to clean and reuse

Love the product
I have been searching for a nice panini griller for a long time and finally found the right one with great price in Sur La Table. The transaction is smooth and the packing is well-done. The product itself is easy to use and clean! I got it 4 days ago and had tried it for few times already in the past weekend. My panini sandwiches are just what I expected. Love it!!

Non-removable grill NO marking???

Apparently this can only be used for sandwiches, there are no grilling groves to mark steaks etc. Is that correct? Are the grills stationary and not removable
A shopper on Jan 24, 2011
Best Answer: This has no grill markings, and has no grease catcher. You can not cook meat on it. It ideal for a quick lunch and also great for a simple dinner, but you shouldn't cook meat and such with it. It is really only for sandwiches, eggs, pancakes. It works as a normal griddle mixed with sandwich press. The grills are not removable

Does this model offer the ability to raise and set the top plate to allow for melting/heating without touching what it on the bottom plate?

Want to be able to use it to reheat pizza as well as as a sandwich grill.

Durable nonstick finish allows the use of metal utensils. The heigth of the top plate is adjustable and if you raise it the highest level it will rest about 1 1/2"" from the bottom plate. You could place a slice of pizza in that space and not have the top plate touch the top of your pizza. Do beware thought that unless that top plate is pressed up against the top of a sandwich, it will tilt a little so you would just need to make sure the slice of pizza is positioned so that the tilted part of the top plate will not interfere

Can i grill a burger or vegetables on this
A shopper on Mar 17, 2011
Best Answer: No, this does not have the grease catcher, its not meant to grill things that have too much grease. Its meant to make eggs, pancakes, panini's, its pretty much just a mix of a sandwich press and a griddle. Noting more. Great product though. If you want an all around grill, I would say get the Cuisinart Griddler

Is there a difference in the quatro vs the duo Breville maker other than how many sandwiches can be made at once?
A shopper on Oct 12, 2011
Best Answer: The only other difference between these 2 panini makers is that the Duo has a plate with grill marks on top and a flat plate on the bottom, whereas the Quattro has two flat plates
